The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.

The provision of the NFA outlawing short barreled rifles is unconstitutional, and needs to be challenged in court. "Shall not be infringed" means it's illegal to even chip away at the fringes of the right to bear arms.

Yes, that is my interpritation as well. A big build up to almost nothing. The "executive orders" are more conspicuous in what they are missing as compared to the rhetoric that we have been hearing. There are no specifics given, but they are signalling that they are going to write rules that go after those who sell partially completed lower receivers in round 1. Completely ludicrous of course, but most people will hardly notice or be affected.

No matter what they think they can do.. gun control is not going to be a cooperative venture.... there is NO WAY people will give their protection up... the fact they are after it so they can do an old Germany trick... the fact they are doing it means they KNOW it is not possible... not without treating the public rough...

Has there been a single recorded murder using a so-called ‘ghost gun.’ That’s not a rhetorical question. I really don’t know.

But, considering the expense of good 3d printers along with the flimsy, non-durable nature of a plastic gun, I find it hard to believe this is actually a real problem in the real world for police. Also, despite what you see in movies, it requires a good deal of tooling and machining expertise to make a reliable weapon from metal stock. Unlike what you see in the John Wick movies, the underworld isn’t teeming with basement armorers who are making sophisticated automatic weapons to sell to hitmen. It’s simply is not happening.

It’s CRAZY to put any energy into this kind of BS when at the very same time, cities are burning due to BLM riots and tens of thousands are dying due to opioid ODs. There’s plenty of other real crime with real victims to focus on for the DOJ.
