BREAKING: White House Releases Initial Gun Control Executive Actions
Townhall.com ^ | 7 April A.D. 2021 | Katie Pavlich

The Biden White House has released a preview of President Joe Biden's executive actions on gun control, which he plans to sign Thursday afternoon. The administration is also arguing additional gun control is needed to fight a "public health" crisis and pushing hard for "red flag laws," which often violate civil liberties.

"Today, the Biden-Harris Administration is announcing six initial actions to address the gun violence public health epidemic," the White House released late Wednesday. "This Administration will not wait for Congress to act to take its own steps."

Here are the six actions, from the White House "fact sheet."

The Justice Department, within 30 days, will issue a proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of “ghost guns.”

The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.

The Justice Department, within 60 days, will publish model “red flag” legislation for states.

The Administration is investing in evidence-based community violence interventions.

The Justice Department will issue an annual report on firearms trafficking.

The President will nominate David Chipman to serve as Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Biden's choice for ATF Director, David Chipman, is a longtime gun control activist who has done extensive lobbying for anti-Second Amendment groups funded by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Giffords Law Center. He was also involved in the Branch Davidian trial after the government -- specifically ATF and FBI -- botched a raid in Waco, Texas. Bad decisions made by federal agents ultimately resulted in the deaths of 76 people, including pregnant women and dozens of children.

Exactly. So many gun shop commandos with their tricked out AR’s and yet no one will take one for the team and water the tree of liberty. We will just whine and complain as they turn the world into a Digital Gulag.

It's been reported that the cartels are manufacturing their own guns

Some of their fav toys are Glock pistols converted to full auto. They fire fast and controllable. That is something to keep in mind if you ever tangle with some south of the border-type characters, and they display Glocks.

Actions or orders?

Executive orders are published in the Federal Register and are legally binding. They give presidents the power to create unilateral directives, though they can be overturned if a court rules they’re unconstitutional. Executive orders remain in place until rescinded or modified by a president, reversed by a court or nullified by legislation.

Executive actions, by contrast, bear little weight. They’re not published in the Federal Register and aren’t subject to legal review. But these so-called threats-to-orders often draw reactions as sharp as the responses to orders themselves.

We will have to see, but right now it is just proposed/suggested rules for states to follow it seems, With the exception of the community gun violence prevention thing which I’m sure will do absolutely nothing to stop violence.

time to file thousands of suits against fedgov for 2nd Amendment Right violations.

no anti-gun law can stand up to SCOTUS challenge

‘shall not be infringed’ is VERY specific language

If they determine that an AR pistol with a brace is an SBR subject to the NFA after saying for years that they weren’t...this is huge and it will not end well.

The spineless GOPe in the Senate will approve this monster.

It does not sound like much except it signals exactly what criminal democrats have wanted all along and that is to completely outlaw all firearms.

Molon labe.

It sets a precedent. Via an EO. If we don’t scream loud and hard, we will not survive in the future. Scream everywhere! Scream loud! Tell everyone you know about this!

EOs are NOT included in the 14th Amendment.
States can legislate and nullify them.
Or, the governor can simply EO them into oblivion.

No State is Constitutionally required to impose fiat law in the form of Presidential Executive Orders.

Yep, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED, etc.!!! Also, supposed “executive orders” are not to be applied to the people/businesses/etc. so are totally unconstitutional, etc.!

Yep, unfortunately!! Also, governments always disarm their citizens before the governments starts mass-murdering the disarmed/defenseless citizens.

I think it’s pretty clear the courts aren’t going to save us.

I pretty much think we may be looking at being Jewish in 1930 Germany.

It may be time to go.

You are so right! The people have every right to ALL weapons of war, especially when/because the US military is going to be taken over by domestic and foreign enemies and ALL branches TOTALLY replaced with foreign troops, etc. if the people can’t save the military.
