Nationally, support for his gun control measures sucks so he can expect no help from congresscritters.

The executive order is his end run. He can do quite a bit of damage before lawsuits shut this down.

It looks like he doesn't have the numbers to kill the filibuster and has already used reconciliation on the stimulus and possibly the infrastructure bill. He will have to concede either gun control or HB1 to McConnell. I see Cocaine Mitch defeating gun control while letting SloJoe have stolen elections for eternity. This way Mitch can call himself a champion of 2A!

Because neither Sinema or Manchin will vote for any major Gun control legislation. It is also very risky for Warnock to do anything but talk about gun control.

Unless they get cover from at least a handful of RINOS, those RATS from pro-gun States are at risk electorally if they vote for any gun control legislation. They need RINOS to sign on or the bill is dead. Their only option would be to put gun control into revenue legislation and use reconciliation. That will cost them the House and Senate so until 2023, EO is the safest option.
