WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner and Publix both say a recent report by 60 Minutes on vaccines in Florida is false.
... Publix blasted the report, saying in part, "The irresponsible suggestion that there was a connection between campaign contributions made to Governor DeSantis and our willingness to join other pharmacies in support of the state's vaccine distribution efforts is absolutely false."

Are primary care providers in FL being allowed to distribute vaccines, anyone know?
All I know is, that Publix, CVS are leading providers. And the further north of FL you get... so is more availability..
I think the roll-out chose to focus on large retail providers and health departments for the distribution chain instead of doctor’s offices. It was viewed by the Trump administration as being easier and less prone to problems.
I got my Pfizer shots from CVS in Pensacola. Very well run. Also I had no side effects. Of course, as an old USAF guy, I’ve had so many immunization shots....
Not yet. Had my annual with my PCP today. They don’t have the shots, but they expect to get them in larger rollouts in the near future.
I hope Publix sues the pants off of CBS.
60 Minutes has been selectively editing hit pieces on individuals, and organizations, since it’s inception.
But, such slanderous behavior has gotten much worse over the last two decades.
I didn’t even ask mine.......but I don’t think so
It was easier to go 1 mile up the road and get it at Publix
The hardest part was playing vaccine roulette.......
...my husband got on the computer early in the morning 4 different times....
....before I got a reserved spot
There truly is a Publix everywhere in Florida
Our local health dept and Veterans clinic does it too.....
.....long lines of cars.......you stay in the car......they check your health records and jab you in the arm
Good for this Dem Mayor. Usually Rats stick together and I was afraid he was going to lie and become a media darling or something. I predict though the national or state DNC will work to get rid of him.
The counties handled it individually according to a state master plan. My county did so badly that the state took it away and had the national guard doing it - although it went very smoothly after that - while the neighboring county clicked along smoothly with fire department and medical personnel doing the vaccination in county facilities (mostly at the big rec center). Also a very good process. Then they added in the Publix and other stores to provide more places where people could get the vaccine so they wouldn’t have to travel as far.
That worked quite well too...although my county was slow to do it because our mayor (a RINO who hates DeSantis) initially refused to have the Publix start doing it. However, he gave in because people were complaining and wondering why it was going so well in the neighboring county and so badly in ours. I guess our mayor had been too busy taking down Confederate statues, issuing mask orders and generally being a nuisance to bother his head with details.
It’s a miracle that De Santis got it to go as well as he did, but he’s very competent, and everybody knows it. I was amazed that even a Dem mayor came out in his defense.
Sixty Minutes of lies, distortion, fake research, and stupidity.
Our primary is not offering them. The counties are as well as pharmacies in grocery stores and places like Walmart, Sams Club. The old greyhound race track in Tampa is giving them 7 days a week all day just walk up. I think the county is running that.
Omission...
👍
That seems to be the case all over the place. Pharmacy chains are the best suited to distribute covid vaccines. Nowadays, the pharmacies are the main distributors of all vaccines.
That too; has to be more.
___
Correct. And if I remember correctly, it was Trump who said in 2020 that these chains will be involved.
It makes zero sense that Publix would not be at the forefront of vaccine distribution in Florida as one of the largest retailers across the state with pharmacy facilities to be able to do so. It would be stupid and irresponsible for them not to be involved.
The rollout has been extremely successful in Florida for vaccine distribution, and since DeSantis is a Republican it has to be converted into a scandal by the media.
Outrageous.
