Excuse me. They already DO trust China! Ask Apple or Wal-Mart for starters. Been trusting them for quite a few years.
I sell globally, and work for a European based chemical company. I can tell you: If China says they must used Yuan, they will DO IT.... gladly. They're hellbent on growing in China, no matter the cost. And, they're sour on investing in the US.

Well here’s a creepy addition to that. Bio-metric drivers licenses that meet the “Real ID” requirements with digital photo of your face that is entered into facial recognition software in a national database as well as your thumb print.
ALPRs - Automatic License Plate Readers. States are deploying ALPRs to enable law enforcement to track/identify motorist.
The new highly reflective license plates with water marks for vision dissemination of the plate numbers real time-real fast.
Everything is tied to your DL and your auto license plates. Wants and warrants, insurance, inspection data, concealed firearms licenses.
When a officer pulls you over...entering your license plate number will pull up a wealth of data on you at his finger tips. Your photo, whether you have a firearm license, current insurance, where you live and so forth.
Furthermore, implementing ALPRs along roadways, on overpasses allow law enforcement/government to track when you come and when you leave...dates and times.
Don’t believe it? Cities already using ALPRs on roadways entering their city to “aid in law enforcement” they say.
We’re rapidly becoming a surveillance state.

Americans need to use cash as much as possible to keep their own spending habits private. Credit cards are a form of track able digital currency controlled by banks and by request track able by governments
Look for the US to do the same, bankers dislike decentralized currency. Printing non-commodity backed currency used to require at least paper and ink, now it’s just keystrokes.
Already happening
A centralized government sh*tcoin with no scarcity just like with regular fiat currency, and produced by a totalitarian regime no less. No matter how hard they push it people will always prefer other better currencies given any choice at all. So apart from some internal government-mandated use in China I expect this to be about as popular as Venezuela’s petro-linked cryptocurrency (and if you never heard of it, that tells you all you need to know).
All developed world currencies have been 90%+ “digital currencies” for years, BTW. Using cryptographic techniques and a blockchain doesn’t magically put it on par with decentralized, private, scarce cryptocurrencies. It’s just worthless government fiat with the same defects.

All those sanctions the US has been imposing drove others away from the Dollar.
Utter stupidity which we will regret.
The days of the dollar are limited folks. The sooner we face that fact the better off we will be. Neither party is capable of reining in spending and the world sees that the “reserve currency” is not in the hands of responsible people.
China correctly understands that “real power” is found in the banking system. They are going to push for a world currency.
A black swan event is sumthin no one saw coming. Plenty of people saw this coming. So I suppose it’s more of a shiny gray swan event.
