You can always tell who the left-wing media fear by the way they attempt to create false attacks against them. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has done an outstanding job leading his state through the COVID crisis.

I sense an attitude of friendliness, and camaraderie with strangers rather than fear of them. Normality is alive and well in Florida, as much as corporate media don’t want to admit it.
If your perception of the world is based on what corporate media tells you, you might think Florida is overrun by wild spring break revelers who are running around killing people by flaunting COVID precautions.
“How spring break in South Beach spun out of control,” the Washington Post blared. The Associated Press reported “deaths” and “violence,” while “police have arrested hundreds of partiers involved in violence and property destruction” in South Beach.
Business Insider lumped “street fights, arrests, and maskless crowds” together in its description of the debauchery. On March 20, the city of Miami Beach established a state of emergency, complete with an 8 p.m. weekend curfew.
The narrative that “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ ‘open-for-business’ policy is backfiring in Miami Beach,” as Slate suggested, is as lazy as it is inaccurate. I’m sure there are some ne’er-do-wellers in Miami, as in any other place on earth. But the corporate media is so busy trying to dunk on DeSantis’s successful and freedom-centric COVID-19 response, they won’t tell you what’s really going on in the Sunshine State.
I’ve spent the past week in Florida, and visited beach towns on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. I’ve seen cheerful street musicians, sailboats unloading in marinas, kids on playgrounds, and moms pushing strollers in seersucker dresses. I’ve seen a few groups of what look like spring breakers too, walking down sunny sidewalks or sitting at beachfront bars enjoying fresh fried seafood.
In St. Petersburg, on Florida’s Gulf coast, the city recently finished rebuilding a pier that stretches out into Tampa Bay. Complete with playground, splash pad, restaurants, and palm trees, it’s a popular outdoor hub for locals and tourists.
Teenagers rollerblade down the boardwalk, while fishermen cast off the edge of the pier. People sit and dangle their bare feet over the water, practicing the old southern ritual of passing the time. A maskless street musician plays the accordion, while his dog retrieves dollar bills from the hands of delighted passersby.
All of liberalism is predicated upon one basic idea:
Someone is having a good time and we must stop it.............................
Yet here I sit in the Punta Gorda area enjoying life. Go figure..........
I walked the St. Pete pier he mentions when we were in the area in February. It was pretty normal then. People were wearing masks when going indoors, but you didn’t see everyone wearing masks outdoors even then. We ate al fresco at a couple nice restaurants nearby, The Library and Rococo Steak. I can recommend both.
That was all BLM imports, they left.
Article is a pack of lies.
No-one would be delighted by a street musician playing an accordion.

True
You can always tell who the left-wing media fear by the way they attempt to create false attacks against them. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has done an outstanding job leading his state through the COVID crisis.
While balancing the economic needs of the people, and keeping the majority of the state functioning and open, DeSantis prioritized protecting the most vulnerable elderly citizens; and then, once available, coordinating the COVID vaccine for that vulnerable population by expediting a massive distribution network to be the first state with over one million doses administered for those who wanted it. In addition DeSantis allowed local communities to make their own decisions about mask wearing and school opening.
As a result the population was protected, cases lower than a majority of states and the principles of small effective government exhibited. In essence, Governor Ron DeSantis embarrassed the heralded blue state governors (Newsom, CA, and Cuomo, NY) with an open economy and a protected population. DeSantis exhibited strong principle-centered leadership and the results speak for themselves.
Because his leadership advanced a popular opinion that he should run for president in 2024, the left-wing media attempt to create an attack narrative with a 60-Minutes hit-job on the vaccination rollout. The false narrative is so fundamentally flawed even legislative democrats in Florida are coming to his defense.
Jared Moskowitz is the Director of Florida’s Emergency Management *AND* a three-term democrat state legislator (source):
When the COVID crisis broke out DeSantis used the Florida National Guard to protect the elderly and nursing homes with medical resources, supply chain and logistics for quarantine needs. DeSantis used the recommended federal lock-down period to complete infrastructure projects on roads and bridges.
Ron DeSantis was the first governor to drop the state-wide mask mandate and eliminate any fines or punishment for not wearing a mask throughout the state. He was the first governor to re-open restaurants for eat-in dining, against opposition, and he kept the schools open for in-person teaching.
DeSantis partnered with private sector for supply chain and logistics for vaccine rollout and he prioritized the vulnerable population; and he was the first state to achieve one million doses of vaccine delivered. He kept the economy open allowing business and local communities to make decisions at a local level, and he was the first governor to speak out against the COVID passport nonsense noting patient privacy as a key issue.
Florida also hosted the Superbowl without issue and has supported local venues making decisions on their COVID responses. As a result the economy in Florida continued to grow and unemployment is approximately half the national average.
Perhaps DeSantis biggest accomplishment was keeping the principles of individual responsibility, liberty and freedom at the forefront of his decisionmaking. Obviously, that makes him a threat to the far-left…. ergo, the CBS attempt to attack… which failed because it is manipulated and FALSE, BIGLY.
It’s a total hell!
Don’t come here whatever you do!
Especially if you are a Yankee!
Especially avoid the Forgotten Coast, on the Panhandle between between St. Marks and Mexico Beach!
True. Liberals always fancy themselves the fun police.
The Covid-Karens are having a heyday!.................
Well, if good looking girls on beaches is Hell, count me in!
“Monsieur, don’t try to be funny with me...”
Problem solved! Everybody happy.
Short story...
As a teen, my girlfriend (literally the “girl next door”) and I hopped a Greyhound in Ohio and traveled (aka “ran away”) to her grandparents in Punta Gorda.
What a trip....getting to meet the local sheriff who housed me in their local facility free of charge including meals while my girlfriend stayed with her grandparents.
What a life!
I live my life like this is just another flu. I do feel for my city dwelling friends, though.
Wrong. Classical liberalism is based on the principle of maximizing individual rights and legal recourse regardless of economic, or social standing. Today’s left has nothing to do with liberalism! It is totalitarian collectivism. It is dehumanizing and incredibly destructive.
I just wish we would quit calling them liberals, as it gives their nefarious march toward death and destruction moral cover.
Florida, even though it has a large elderly population, is 27th in the US in deaths per capita, and below the national average.
Over the last week, I moved from El Paso to the panhandle region. Somewhere in the middle of Texas, I stopped at a gas station and struck up a conversation with an older couple who were escaping California to move to Florida.
I went out of my way to ensure they understood that we have to keep Florida the way it is and begged them to vote the right way.
They indicated they would...I pray they do.
I was in Destin over the weekend. It was paradise. People who wanted to wear a mask wore them. Those of us who didn’t, didn’t. No one chastised anyone for their choice.
It’s time to fight back against radical government tyranny and simply not comply with illogical mandates. We need to become nearly ungovernable as our Founding Fathers were.
