Booster shots to prevent infections from coronavirus mutations will become the norm in the future, according to a top genome expert in the United Kingdom.
"We have to appreciate that we were always going to have to have booster doses; immunity to coronavirus doesn’t last forever," Sharon Peacock, the head of the COVID-19 Genomics UK, exclusively told Reuters. COG-UK, which was created by Peacock about a year ago in response to COVID-19 and is a consortium of public health and academic institutions, has sequenced some 349,205 genomes of the virus out of a global effort of about 778,000 genomes, the outlet reported.
Just like the annual flu shot, boosters for COVID-19 will likely be needed to combat coronavirvus variants that could occur in the future, said Peacock.
"We already are tweaking the vaccines to deal with what the virus is doing in terms of evolution — so there are variants arising that have a combination of increased transmissibility and an ability to partially evade our immune response," she added.

The “vaccine” was free...I doubt that the “boosters” will be.
The coronavirus is going to do exactly what it was intended to do.
On the plus side, saving for retirement and the fear of outliving your savings is much less of a concern now.
Living into your 80’s is going to become rare. That’s a lot of virus mutations to go through during your older years, there’s a good chance one of them will get you.
And if you develop a comorbidity along the way, as most of us will, the risk of that condition has certainly increased, so there’s that.
I also think that once you have had this coronavirus, when you get it again, you are at higher risk of more serious disease from it, and the third time and fourth time, too.
How many times have you had a common cold? 20% of those are from a coronavirus, only four of the known twenty coronaviruses discovered have infected humans, until this fifth one.
The vaccines will help, more or less. Not sure about the unintended consequences of them. Hard to imagine getting experimental vaccines every year.
And none of it leads us back to where we once were, or gets rid of masks, or social distancing, or fills football stadiums and movie theaters.
Flu shots are “free” for us duffers. (yeah I understand Medicare is a Ponzi scheme). I imagine the yearly COVID updates won’t cost us much either.
Yes, easily. In fact while there are population reduction folks about and in positions of influence it is best to never trust the motives of those who claim that they only want to help.
Most doctors, and even many researchers, are not ever in a position to make such a choice though.
Strange, no policy wonks have been sounding alarm about the “demographic bubble” or the “pending Social Security crisis” for over a year.
I wonder why?

Now that we have Modern Monetary Theory, there’s no worry about things like budget deficits or Soc Sec/Medicare shortfalls.
We’re in full “run it til it blows up” mode.
Then why can’t they get a flu vaccine that works every year?
None of that matters anyway.
The masks and lockdown were NEVER about the virus.
They were always about control and eventual elimination of excess humanity.
We get a flu shot every year to update our immunity to the latest strains.
This is not abnormal in any way shape or form but some people just have to play the stepped on victim.
Victim cards are no longer acknowledged.
If you do not wish to get the vaccine or the booster fine, just sign away your rights to any and all public medical assistance or monetary support if you ever do get covid.
Now quit whining and go away.

We get flu shots every year so exactly what is the problem within known and provable science?
Because they are not thru changing our genome to their desired liking
And the flu shot is strictly hit-or-miss.
But that doesn’t matter. Facts and reality haven’t mattered since the beginning of the “curve flattening.”
None of it was necessary. Bureaucratic edicts were never going to save us from the CCP virus. Ordinary immunity would have worked just fine without masks and lockdowns. Sweden and Florida proved that. Quarantines are for the sick and vulnerable. Quarantining healthy people was a crime against humanity.
They are not going to let us out of this without Covid “Passport” that will never go away.
