Tom Cotton calls out MLB for punishing Georgia over voting law while partnering with communist China

Sen. Tom Cotton and many other conservatives slammed Major League Baseball in response to the league’s decision to move the 2021 All-Star Game out of Georgia due to a recently enacted election integrity law.

“Hey @MLB, how many days of early voting are allowed in China?” the Arkansas Republican tweeted after MLB released a statement slamming the Georgia law and suggesting it would restrict voting access and that it didn’t align with the “values” of the league.

Others on social media pointed out that MLB also partnered with Cuba and held a baseball game in the communist country that was attended by then-President Barack Obama.

“No MLB All-Star game in Atlanta because of a voting law but a MLB game in communist Cuba was perfectly acceptable to the league,” Newsmax correspondent Logan Ratick tweeted.

MLB taking as courageous stance — in favor of vote fraud and election rigging.

All tax breaks and subsidies to professional sports should be abolished. Also stadiums should be seized by the local governments because taxpayers paid for it.

I will never even check the standings or scores of MLB again I never thought that they could out do the NFL in treachery.

The way that NFL drafts college football players should be illegal. It is restraint of trade. If you graduate from college with a degree in petrochemical engineering you will get multiple job offers and you can pick the one that you want. If you get out of college with a good football record you have no choice, the NFL decides where you will work.

Worse will be those who drag their kids to the games or watch on TV. It’s almost child abuse of the mind.

Baseball is my favorite sport. Still, having said that, I haven’t been to a ML game since the strike, and this stunt certainly isn’t going to win me back. There are plenty of other ways indulge my love of baseball without MLB.

I used to be one of those boys who collected baseball cards and could name just about every starting lineup of teams in the 1970s. To this day, I love talking about the Reds, Orioles, Pirates and A’s especially of that era. But for the past 25 years, baseball, like most teams sports, has become as interesting to me as Oprah Winfrey’s thoughts on... well, anything.

Bad decision, caving and catering to #woke fascists. This is going to cost them ticket sales, viewership, and revenue, and they con’t be able to figure out why. (The NFL still hasn’t.)

If it bothers them that much, maybe they sholuld move the Braves out of Atlanta. There are plenty of cities that would love to have them; they’re a pretty good team.

George Carlin was right: Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners.

Major League Baseball will have more protections against ballot box stuffing of the All-Star voting than they want Georgia to have on elections of government.

Apparently there is no “restraint of trade” in a pro sports league draft because it is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. That’s how leagues like the NFL and NHL can have minimum age requirements of 19 or 21 for their players, too.

Me too. And back when I had a rotisserie team I knew the stats and records of just about every MLB player.

Great idea. Maybe we can force referenda to end ALL subsidies to ALL sports and repossess the stadia. Also, Bill the owners directly by taxing them.

George was right. Political “correctness” is tyranny wrapped in a cloak of common decency.
