The Georgia state House passed an amendment Wednesday that would strip Delta Air Lines of a multimillion-dollar tax break after the company blasted the state’s new election laws.
Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law last week a bill overhauling his state’s election procedures designed to increase security and address issues that surrounded the 2020 election. Delta initially supported key measures of the legislation after it was signed, then backtracked days later amid calls for boycotts pushed by left-wing publications.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the new election law “does not match Delta’s values.” Republicans in the state House, angered by Bastian’s sudden flip on the election overhaul, hit back at the company by voting to strip it of a jet fuel tax break worth over $35 million a year, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

I’m aware that a large part of our politics today has nothing to do with governing, only hurting the other tribe, but this is pretty brazen.
Congratulations. Your enjoyment of doctrinaire positions blinds you to the simple truth that what you advocate is selling the very rope to Democrats who will use it “smite” you and yours. Delta is just fine with that, too. But I know you’ll never understand that.
They didn’t get this done in time before the Senate went into recess for the year. So no this isn’t happening.
Interesting. So just more kabuki here. No surprise. The GA state house was utterly useless during the steal.
Read Victor Davis Hanson today; we need to fight back even if we have to abandon the Marquis of Queensbury rules or there will not be a country left. Through measures that are purely legal and constitutional, Fight against school indoctrination by the communist teachers’ union, fight against the stealing of elections, fight against the press portrayal of Josef Stolen as a kindly old patriarch when in fact he is a demented, stupid but vicious old fool.
“No, I’m saying that political argument is entirely self-serving and is used to justify all kinds of things, some good and some bad”
Sorry, doesn’t read that way (”Ah yes. The old “it will be best for the people if I get to remain in power” argument. Been used to justify all kinds of stuff.”) - it reads that you believe this legislation will result in voter suppression. The legislation has NOTHING TO DO with giving one side or the other an advantage. There is NO SUPPRESSION due to this legislation.
Again, we’re now starting to better understand where you’re coming from.
Then the Board at Delta need to replace the loud mouth woke idiot if the CEO doesn’t speak for the company or in the company’s best interest.
That is not necessarily true. They may have got Delta to move there as a consequence of granting them a tax break, but now that they are there, it is not so easy for Delta to simply move. They may be stuck there for a decade or more, and in any case, the increased revenue for the fuel taxes may benefit the citizens of Georgia at this point in time.
I also think teaching big corporations to look after their businesses and stay out of politics is a worthwhile benefit to the people of Georgia.
Sorry, the ankle biters and conservative hobbyists have no stomach for this fight. Plenty of room for “Muh principles” under the Democrat bus.
good screw these companies that pander to these Marxists who hate this country.
Delta also came out and publicly stated they would not allow anyone on their planes that were known to be at the protest at the Capitol regardless of whether they did anything or not.
Delta is another anti-whitey anti-American company allowed to survive off of the same people they hate’s money.
“What about Delta’s free speech rights?”
Nobody tried to forbid Delta to express their point of view. They were free to speak. Now they’re free to take the consequences. No First Amendment violation at all.
hey troll,as usual here you are defending the left.
Delta doesn’t have a right to get tax money.
Is Georgia fining or arresting Delta executives for their politics or just stopping some tax payer funded perk?
I’d love to see your past posts on all of these Government funded big tech companies (from tax breaks to big defense contracts), who throw all conservatives off of their sites for their politics while pushing Marxism.
“Delta - Doesn’t Ever Leave The Airport”
You got that right.
About 10 or 12 years ago I was a presenter at an academic conference. I arranged, with the knowledge and permission of my employer to leave four days early and make a side trip to visit my parents in West Texas.
The flight was supposed to be Hong Kong > Detroit > Dallas > Lubbock (For 3 days) Lubbock > Dallas > Atlanta > Buffalo. (Three days at the conference) Buffalo > Detroit > Hong Kong.
Every leg except the first and the last was late, cancelled or missed. I didn’t arrive in Buffalo until the day the conference ended. They lost my bags, they put me in hotels with no restaurant. It was absolutely the worst flight I’ve ever had. I ended up having to pay for the flights because I missed the conference and my employer did reimburse.
Delta offered me $1000.00 “Delta Dollars” for the trouble. I told them to keep it because I’d walk or swim next time rather than fly Delta. Never flown them again.
They are among the very first Americans to shed their "sniveling & cowardly obedience" to our communist rulers and their corporate enablers...
This poster is a leftist troll, they were in the GAETZ thread acting the same way.
This is not a conservative at all, they are always attacking ANY push back from the right and defending all leftist tactics.
Maybe an admin should keep their eye out for this one.
Just look at their posting history and again check out their posting history regarding Matt Gaetz recent extortion stuff.

Awesome way to go GA
That person gets it, this is their tactic. they come into threads and pretend to be “concerned” or not “understand” why people here are happy or for something. Of course they always have an issue with the right fighting back or pushing back.
