Doctors warn of more serious COVID cases among younger adults placing them in hospitals
I have seen a very clear increase in COVID patients at the ER in Detroit, and many of them need to be hospitalized.
..
Now the most concerning trend is in the number of middle-aged people with severe COVID-19.
“We have about a quarter of the patients who are hospitalized at our main hospital actually in the intensive care unit (ICU) right now,” said Dr. Geneva Tatem.
Tatem is a critical care specialist in the ICU at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. “We’ve seen a shift to a little bit younger age group. They’re about 5 years or so younger than we’ve seen in the past,” said Tatem.
Michigan’s data shows hospitalizations have taken a sharp increase with a growth rate that is more severe than the increase we saw during the winter surge.
Cases are doubling in under two weeks and the concern is this will lead to more cases in the ICU.
“We know that a lot of patients who get admitted to the medical ICU get admitted because they are get worse while they are actually in the hospital. What we know is that patients, almost irrespective of age thus far, when they’ve gotten critically ill they’ve required a lot of high-level, very advanced care for prolonged periods of time,” said Tatem. “The fact that they’re critical ill and in an ICU means that they’re going to have pretty much a protracted course. So again, anything and everything that we can do to prevent them from getting so ill that they need to be in an ICU is where our focus really is.”

I know correlation is not causation, but are they not also the muslim capital of the US?
Michigan has had a year to train staff and build fa ilities.
A year to prepare.
“We’ve seen a shift to a little bit younger age group. They’re about 5 years or so younger than we’ve seen in the past,”
And how much have the raw numbers increased? And have they changed their standards regarding when one should be admitted to ICU?
Odd... I wonder if it’s the same number as before but there were just lots of older people before so it didn’t seem as big...
Regardless - keep that fear going bros
As more adults become immunized the financial rewards to hospitalize younger and less likely to die increases. Simple answer.
A similar trend has been reported in Europe and Israel — younger, sicker patients needing hospitalization and more invasive treatments.
Governor Gestapo Gretchen is busy preparing her next lockdown dictate.

I don’t know what you mean by muslim capital but there are tons of them in Dearborn.
That’s what I mean.

1. Instead of 75-YO being admitted to ICU, the average age is now 70?
2. This is in a crowded population center (Suburban Detroit) with higher percentage for real human interaction.
3. The note that there is a large population of Muslims in and around Henry Ford hospital is legitimate as the Islamic faith was ‘quietly’ allowed several variances for worship and faith-based interactions.
These were provided by negotiations whereas the Christian groups were rebuffed in negotiations and required to go to the courts.
I simply don’t believe anything I hear or read coming from the media.
There is an expression. Figures lie and liars figure.
Lots of areas with highest flair ups are the suburban and somewhat rural areas near the Great Lakes.
These places have had kids in school sports for awhile and they acquired the COVID-19 after a enough outbreaks finally entered enough percentage of the population to spark widespread contagion.
There is no way to stop the spread entirely, young people and those who refuse the vaccine better be ready for their eventually getting COVID.
Here, a neighbor’s little grandkids will have life long problems with their lungs, kidneys and thyroid due to covid.
Of course, they are listed as recovered from covid. So, success!
check the demographics.
Case#’s seem to be dropping.
Where is the data re younger patients?

Thanks for posting this.
How do you know what lifelong ailments they will suffer from? Especially considering most recover without lasting effects. Are you a prophet?
Perhaps being locked down inside with a long winter, masked up, and no vitamin D has done exactly what everyone predicted: exacerbate the Coronavirus!
