The New York Times reported on March 27 that Syrian-born Colorado mass shooter Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa had been on the FBI’s radar before he murdered 10 people in a grocery store.
“The suspect’s identity was previously known to the F.B.I. because he was linked to another individual under investigation by the bureau, according to law enforcement officials,” the Times says.
According to a police affidavit, six days before Alissa shot 10 people to death, he purchased a pistol. That would have required him to pass a federal background check also run by the FBI. It seems the FBI is not very good at this “stopping mass shooters” thing.
This is not an anomaly in the FBI’s history. It in fact appears to be a pattern of negligence. During the Barack Obama presidency, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., grilled FBI Director James Comey about the “known wolf” problem — of 14 Islamist attacks in the U.S. during Obama’s tenure, the FBI had been aware of at least 12 before the violence erupted, and did nothing.

The GOP doesn’t care. They don’t want to disturb the Democrats.
************
You are right. The GOP is totally worthless.
Its a fake party.
They only do that for Republicans
Number of Rank and File that have spoken out and exposed corruption, please?
but meanwhile, white Americans are getting picked up, guns confiscated, and charged because soemoen with a grudge turned them in-
I don’t think anyone should be picked up, and rights violated on red flag rules, but the point is the left pick and choose who they apply the rules to, and conservatives and folks who are not muslim or blm or antifa suffer for this hypocrisy
when does the other suspect under surveillance begin his rampage?
The next time gun confiscation comes up?
Do you think that is a good thing?
And had anyone reported him to the cops or did he have a diagnosis of mental illness?
I could very well be on a ‘right-wing terrorist” for subscribing to crazy rag loooooooong ago (The Spotlight). Or for something I posted online.
Point is, I don’t trust the Feebs’ judgement in these things, and neither should you. Maybe they should report him to local law enforcement - “Hey! You have a real loon living at xxxx YYYY Street. Y’all might want to check on him.”
But that’s it.
And WOMEN and children at Ruby Ridge.
I would prefer they didn’t do anything AND stopped watching for fake insurrectionists. I have zero faith in the judgment of the Federales or the Feebs.
Does anyone get it? This is the sort of thing that allows the Feds to increase their power. “Someone should do something!” “There ought to be a law!” It is how we get crap laws like red flag, gun control, no fly lists, etc.
Freedom isn’t safe. The best solution is armed and aware citizens shooting back and a populace that applauds them.
[[Do you think that is a good thing?]]
I said in my last post that i didn’t- my whole point is that the left are blatant hypocrites- using laws and rules to punish conservatives while allowing criminals and illegals to go scott free-
Okay.
Use that as a basis for opposing passage and supporting the repeal of red flag laws.
But don’t run around saying “Someone oughta do something!” That just plays into the politicians’ hands.
America, the FBI is not your friend.
[[But don’t run around saying “Someone oughta do something!”]]
Mind pointing out where i said FBI should have done something? Again- my whole comment was strictly to point out the hypocrisy of the left-
If I remember correctly, the Pulse nightclub muzzie shooter's father was an FBI INFORMANT. AND ETC., ETC., ETC...
WAKE. UP. AMERICA. The FBI is CONSCIOUSLY ENABLING OR EVEN HELPING TO PLAN these mass shootings. END GAME IS GUN CONFISCATION AND THE ELIMINATION OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT.
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ALERT!!!!: The "RANDOM" spigot doesn't just get shut off when Trump is president, then within mere days of a new DemonRat president mysteriously get turned on again, then again, then again.
WAKE THE F UP, AMERICA.
Ruby Ridge?
Waco?
Way before Zero
But they keep an eye on Tea Party people.
... Because who is a greater threat to an overpaid, underworked government employee with gold-plated benefits and a fat pension - someone who wants to cut government waste and bloat ... or a terrorist who will kill Americans - guaranteeing MORE government programs, powers and spending?
To the Famous But Incompetent - it's the hard-working, tax-paying American!
Or worse.
The fact that it's easier for Americans to imagine dissolving Congress than it is for them to imagine dissolving the FBI is a big problem.
Bump, tells me all I need to know.
I agree, but at the same time we need to show how worthless the FBI is.
Sorry. I mistakenly thought you were of the opinion that the FBI should have been able pick up Al-Issa somehow.
Apparently some think it would be appropriate for the FBI to come bust down the door of anyone they think might be vaguely suspicious, seize them, seize all their firearms, and hold them indefinitely.
I think that’ll leave around 20 million people left to guard the other 310 million in prison.
