I feel bad for the ones with years invested. But if I’m junior, I am walking.

This will flush the police departments of good cops, driving them to retire or move, and once that is done the communists will install their own thugs in the NYPD, making politicians even bolder when it comes to stripping you of liberties.

Reminds me of Hugo Chavez replacing Vebezuelan law enforcement with his own loyalists and Cubans.

Who needs police? Without Qualified Immunity, there will not be very many to choose from. So, I guess we can all just get along with Vigilante justice with no right to sue at all.

Either crime will bring a civilization wide decline and crash, or summary justice and public hangings will become the rule. Either way, fun will be had by all. But the Democrats can’t be blamed, even though they are totally responsible, or totally irresponsible really.

I would encourage the police not to be too hasty to quit. Instead, they might consider a slow response when citizens administer street justice to thugs. Arrive at the scene, call an ambulance, and don't interview anyone.

Problem with the homeless using drugs and stinking up the street? Let citizens give them a warning and if there is no cooperation, maybe a G.I. party. Arrive at the scene, ask if anyone saw anything. No? Well, call an ambulance, and maybe write a report, or maybe not.

If the police aren't going to frisk anyone, then all citizens should go ahead and conceal carry. Why worry?

Ex-NYPD detective calls on commissioner to resign after 'crazy move' to scrap plainclothes unit

by Victor Garcia | Fox News | June 15, 2020

Former NYPD detective Harry Houck called on New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea to resign Monday, hours after Shea announced that he was scrapping the department’s plainclothes anti-crime unit.

“I tell you, the plainclothes officers that are out there, the anti-crime units, are out there in plain clothes trying to watch criminals and catch them in the act,” Houck said on “The Story with Martha MacCallum.”

“Now, you [have] the perpetrators out there in the street saying, ‘Hey, listen, we don’t have to worry about undercover officers any more. We only have to worry about uniforms. So we see no uniforms. There’s no cops around.’ And believe me, they will take advantage of that.”

NYPD ends plainclothes anti-crime unit, reassigning hundreds of officers to other teams

by Bradford Betz | Fox News | June 15, 2020

The New York City Police Department on Monday announced it is disbanding its anti-crime unit and reassigning hundreds of plainclothes officers to other divisions amid widespread criticism over the department’s handling of protesters.

Commissioner Dermot Shea said roughly 600 plainclothes officers from the anti-crime unit will be reassigned to other teams. ...”

There will now be a rash of police abuse cases filed for incidences “claimed” from years and decades ago. NYC will be broke in a year and any present or retired officer will be getting an attorney on retainer in anticipation.

So Diblasio is opening the city up to massive lawsuits because it is the deep pocket city that is bought in as a defendant and ultimately pays the bill. Is NYC self insuring in suits brought against it or do they have a liability carrier? Either way the city loses because if they have a liability insurance carrier, look for the premiums to skyrocket.
