I remember one of the biographies in the original “Profiles in Courage” was about the senator who voted NOT to convict Andrew Johnson at the first impeachment. Look at how much things have changed.
“The award was created by the family of the late president to honor public figures who risk their careers by embracing unpopular positions for the greater good”
“Greater good” = voting to convict a man, an innocent man who never committed the crimes he was accused of and whose constitutional rights were abused in the process.

A fake award named after a book written by a fake author awarded to a fake Republican. There’s a certain symmetry about it, spanning several decades. Very nice.
i think JFK, a real hero of WWII, is spinning in his tomb. in the 7th grade i memorized his whole “Ask what you can do for your country...” speech. how far this country has fallen.

This woman put up stoically with more public abuse than all of the other First Ladies put together - except for those whose husbands cheated on their wives while in office. Excluding Hillary Clinton, of course. She considered it a possible angle, no doubt.
The trophy is a golden rat.
Romney’s the guy that wanted Bolton to testify because Romney was looking for some justification to not vote for impeachment, or in other words, President Trump was guilty until proven innocent. So now he’s being rewarded for behavior called “courageous?”

A fake hero. That PT-109 collision with the destroyer was because of Kennedys incompetence. They made him into a hero because of Old Joes political clout.

Yup. Joe Kennedy wanted his kid to get The Medal Of Honor but the Navy wasn’t having any of it.
They told the old man that Kennedy had not followed procedures of radio silence and had allowed his boat to drift out of line of the other boats on that August night.
The Navy told him to back off and settle for a Navy Cross.
JFK would think very highly of POTUS Trump and be sickened of the DNC.
