Convicted spy laments US Jews see themselves as more American than Jewish, suggests he’d counsel Jew working in American security apparatus to spy for Israel even now
Jonathan Pollard, the convicted spy for Israel whose story haunted the American Jewish community’s relations with the US government for decades, is unrepentant.
“The bottom line on this charge of dual loyalty is, I’m sorry, we’re Jews, and if we’re Jews, we will always have dual loyalty,” Pollard said in an interview published Thursday in Israel Hayom, his first extensive remarks since his release from prison in 2015.
Pollard recalled how much of the Jewish leadership did not stand up for him following his 1985 arrest, when he was a civilian analyst for the US Navy who was found to be spying for Israel.

“Don’t Catholics already spy for the Pope?”
No, we don’t. In fact, most of us like Bergoglio less than you do.
Many prejudices shown in the actual words quoted in this whole topic.
But here, the social-communist-”jewish” liberals who serve their international socialist global government (Chinese and EU and democrat party) contrast with the conservative Jews supporting Israel and American conservatives and capitalism and freedom.
All now curse words to the left!
How could you possibly not tell my post was sarcasm which I qualified by purloining my own southern Baptists too?
When Roman Catholics here actually criticize Protestants do they couch such views in even handed ness?
I for the record support strong good popes like JPII and Bennie
I think Bennie was ousted by leftist woke COC goons frankly
I have worked with thousands of small business owners over 35+ years.
95% are conservative or at least lean right.
Every single Jewish business owner I have ever met except one was liberal.
<< should consider spying for Israel >>
He’s attempting to stir up animosity for whatever twisted reason(s). Definitely a better shit-stirrer than a spy.
I think it simpler than that. Jews were the excluded class in Hitler’s era. So Jews tend to move towards the party which claims to be more inclusive. And that is the democrat party. Ditto with Chinese, Indians, and most immigrants.
I’m spying for Ireland. Mostly I check out their beer.
Ultra zionists are expansionist and dream of a greater Israel that stretches from the Nile to the Euphrates. They would love to see the 15-17 million Jews from around the world return home to facilitate it.
Obviously, they are completely deluded if they think it could ever happen, but then fanatics aren’t neccessarily dissuaded by long odds.
My girls have it with Brasil
Did the sarcasm fly over you?
I don’t see how
Okay, sarcasm. Fine. You win.
They would probably do a better job of it but man at the bickering
There’s a lot going for your idea.
The whole matter is still a mystery to me.
Unless you have been in that boat, it is difficult to comprehend for others.
Nothing bothers Jews and immigrants more than thrown into the exclusion class. All it takes is 1 or 2 incidents of told “you don’t belong here” and a lifelong democrat gets created, who will vote against their own prosperity interests, even though they came here looking for prosperity.
Same reason some Americans join Islamic extremist groups. It gives them a sense of belonging and acceptance.
Pollard does not realize that his “we are part of X country” Maxim can work more than one way.
Some Jewish person born and raised in country X to adulthood, presently residing with “dual citizenship” living in Israel could say they can, in Israel, spy on behalf country X because it is the land of their birth and they have family there.
I think citizenship and loyalty that goes with it is like the relationship with G-d - that loyalty cannot be divided.
Pollard did not make a morally correct decision.
If Israel was where his first loyalty belonged, then he should have moved, lived and worked in Israel and given up his U.S. citizenship when he did.
If he had been an Israeli and lived and worked in and for Israel, without U.S. citizenship, I would have had a different position, with regard to any morality of his decisions, as to any spying on the U.S., because of course the U.S. has betrayed Israel more than once, and it is in Israel’s interest to know allot about the goings on in the U.S. and with U.S. military and intelligence services. EVERY country has that self-interest, just as we do.
Hillel Weiss is one. Look him up. Note that I said that they exist, I didn’t say that they were a particularly large or predominant group, but they exist, just as white supremacists and neo-nazis exist, although their numbers and influence are wildly exaggerated by leftist grifters, but they do exist.
I don’t see why that statement is controversial.
