Convicted spy laments US Jews see themselves as more American than Jewish, suggests he’d counsel Jew working in American security apparatus to spy for Israel even now
Jonathan Pollard, the convicted spy for Israel whose story haunted the American Jewish community’s relations with the US government for decades, is unrepentant.
“The bottom line on this charge of dual loyalty is, I’m sorry, we’re Jews, and if we’re Jews, we will always have dual loyalty,” Pollard said in an interview published Thursday in Israel Hayom, his first extensive remarks since his release from prison in 2015.
Pollard recalled how much of the Jewish leadership did not stand up for him following his 1985 arrest, when he was a civilian analyst for the US Navy who was found to be spying for Israel.

Considering the entity now running our government, I could why Jews or anyone else would be looking to help out other countries, since we’ll soon be unable to do jack for them.
First of all, the reason roughly 70% of Jews voted for Biden (76% for Hillary in 2016) included the fact that most Jews do not care about Israel. The cliche is all Jews are still like the era when The Ten Commandments and Exodus were in theaters and people rooted for Israel in the 1967 war. Now fewer care much.
That time is gone. Few Jews care for Israel and most do not like Natanyahu or Trump. Most Jews are not observant and few are regular attendees of religious services. Reform lowest, then Conservative, then more observant and right wing politically Orthodox and Lubavitchers.
Why is this a surprise? Every country should care about the interests of the home country first and foremost. Too bad the US government doesn’t think that way.
They might as well be spying for China, because ultimately that’s where the information winds up.
When I read this, it makes me agree that this treasonous blaster should have been executed - period.
