Make the argument that the reason for the second amendment is to allow citizens to protect themselves not only from domestic criminals etc., but also to protect themselves from the tyranny of out of control government. Then make the related argument that if you restrict citizens from protecting themselves from government tyranny then you need to restrict government from becoming tyrannical.
Term limits are absolutely and unequivocally essential in that context, as are deep restrictions to prevent political participation by any government bureaucrat/bureaucracy.
Of course, politicians are in general the most narcissistic, unethical, and modestly talented people in any society, so they won't ever restrict themselves. If gun laws, term limits, and restriction of government power were linked, the political class would instantly lose all interest in gun control.
With all the California people flocking to Texas, there may not be enough to want to secede.
In the states where they tried this there has been almost no compliance. And those are commies states. You think the men and women in REAL America are going to hand over their only means of fighting back and shuffle quietly to the concentration camp busses?

If you attempt to hide articles, if ever caught with them, you will not only have them confiscated and charged with illegal possession of a particular firearm, you’ll also face charges of false statements on a government document.
Also likely gun buybacks...a sort of amnesty program. You’ll have until whatever date to turn in a particular weapon/mags/ammo. After this date, you’ll be considered violating the law...you’ll be an outlaw at this point.
So once law abiding citizens...magically become outlaws.

After some research, my wife has discovered both her Welsh and Scottish roots. Her family is here because her Scottish ancestor survived the battle of Culloden. He was given the choice of hanging or being sold off to work in America. He clearly chose the latter. She enjoys watching Outlander. It's not real history, but an amusing reflection of the time. My great grandfather made his exit from Wales in 1863 and promptly joined the Union Army. His "basic training" took place on flat bed rail cars rolling to the front lines. The consequence was two years in a Confederate POW camp. He survived and raised 19 children. The balance of my ancestors arrived on the Mayflower and were active participants in the American Revolution. As a family, we've been down this road before. Freedom is worth the battle to preserve it.
