A very pleasant good Friday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Beach for this morning's thread.

Howdy, luvie.

It was a good meeting and we have several things in the works. The big project is our new coloring book. We put one together a couple of years ago dealing with American history from the Pilgrims up to WWII. The new one will pick up where the first one ended and come up to the present.

We’ve sold a LOT of the first edition and donated many to some of the area schools. The teachers and kids like them a lot. I’m on the committee and we’ll meet in a couple of weeks to decide which events to use. Our VP is an artist and will do the illustrations. Her hubby’s a history major and put together a LONG list of events to choose from.

Putting the first one together was fun and this one should be too.

Hope you had a good day, and nicer weather than we did. Chilly and wet. Yuck.

Did you give your new mower another workout yesterday?
Or was the weather too wet to do it OR head out for a romp with Gizmo?

Well, it's a little bit cool this morning so the new mower will be resting for a little while. Grass doesn't grow in cooler or for that matter cold weather.

I did however, do some brush pile cleanup work:

I will have to wait for the trash guys to come Monday and empty out the dumpster before I can continue the work.

Later today we head to the vet for his monthly heart worm pill and quarterly flea and tick shot. Also a new bottle of Zic tablets and his visit with his BFF Ringo.

That book sounds great! I wouldn’t mind having the two of them for Callie to color. Piper loves to color too, even though she’s now a “cool” teenager. LOL!

The weather was very nice. Hubby had dental surgery this morning so that kind of put a damper on things, but I’d take your wet in a heartbeat.

You’d mentioned giving your new mower a tryout and getting some sticks hung up. I didn’t know if you might have mowed a little more with it afterwards to get a good feel for it. At least knock all the weeds down. LOL Our grass is just starting to come up but we have weeds galore already.

Looks like you were plenty busy yesterday. Between picking up all that brush and Gizmo d ragging you all over Chisolm Trail Park you must have slept like a rock!

It’ll be a while before we have the second one ready but I can get a copy of the first one to you for Callie. Piper, too, if you think she’d like one. Heck, we’ve had adults buy copies for themselves because they like to color. LOL

Ugh, dental surgery. That’ll sure ruin one’s day. I feel for your hubby. I hope he didn’t feel TOO crummy afterwards.

I’d love to give you some of this wet. It’s squishy around the yard. I’m ready for some blue skies and sunshine after the dreary week we’ve had. The sun’s poked out a few times but never for long.

We got lotsa rain yesterday, then drizzle, wind, and chilly temps today. We’re grateful we missed out on the storms that hammered areas south of us.
