It’s Cool to be Conservative
American Thinker.com ^ | March 18, 2021 | John Green

Posted on 03/18/2021 3:47:48 AM PDT by Kaslin

After a piece I wrote about my Democrat friends, one of my readers asked the question, “How in the world can you stomach friends that voted to ruin our country?”

It’s a really good question. My Democrat friends did in fact vote to destroy the freedom and prosperity which we all enjoy. The short answer is that I believe there’s salvation, even for those who’ve made egregious mistakes -- as we all have. The long answer is that we need them. Somewhere around half of the voters (regardless of what you think of the election) chose the socialist alternative that the Democrats were offering. We can’t return our country to its founding principles without addressing the half of the citizenry that are ready to abandon those principles.

I believe there are actually two general categories of Democrat voters. The first are the true leftist zealots who are committed to achieving some form of socialism. They don’t value individual liberty. They seek top-down control of every aspect of our society. Their idea of utopia is a world in which elites with superior education manage all aspects of our lives -- how we assemble, what we may say, and how we must live. Their objectives are diametrically opposed to those of our founders. They can’t be reasoned with, and shouldn’t be bargained with.

But the second, and larger, group of Democrat voters has more promise. Although they would never call themselves “conservatives,” they actually love America and value its founding principles. Even so, they continue to vote for politicians promising some variant of socialism. They’ve been captives of a propaganda campaign for so long that they’re no longer making rational choices. They suffer from political “Stockholm syndrome.” They’ve come to accept the narrative that’s been fed to them by media and academia.

“... I believe there’s salvation, even for those who’ve made egregious mistakes...”

They aren’t “mistakes,” bonehead. These degeneratecrats know exactly what they are doing when they vote. They go into it with their eyes wide open.

I think it is important to realize that this feeling is not reciprocated. The Left would kill half the country if they had the chance. They don't think they need us at all.

The conservative movement is passe. The days of Goldwater, Buckley, Reagan & Rush are in the rear view mirror. The name has to go. It’s like asking a Gen Z kid to do their shopping from a Sears catalog

Like I said on another thread: I have never seen such hate from anyone that is like the demonic hate and loathing of the far left. It goes far beyond normal human disagreement about policy and into supernatural demonic insanity. I have seen several liberals I know turn insane with hate in the last few years. They are impossible to reason with, and I no longer try. I simply pray for them. The truth is not in them, they are living a lie. I don’t hate these people, for most of them don/t understand what they are doing. But I have learned to be careful around them.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 ESV

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Luke 12:53 ESV
They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

I am thinking we do not.

They have had numerous chances and they keep voting against this country. Your second group had 4 years of Trump and seeing the light and ballotted it away. Notice I do not say voted it away.

At least the author is trying, but I don’t see it working out.

Truth.

“Unappeasable” really jumps out to me. Mobs usually aren’t appeasable (confirmed as I just went through the Acts).

The days of Goldwater, Buckley, Reagan & Rush

Rush was a Libertarian pretending to be a Conservative.

A secession, a divorce is what is needed. Irreconcilable differences.

It’s all irrelevant when the vote counters and systems are owned by the junta that overthrew our country. They own judges, prosecutors, governors, and congress.

Turn out the lights. The party’s over.

I think the author makes a good point. Those not completely lost to the left are being redpilled. But it’s happening on the back channels and alternate media, not so much here anymore.

When Harry Browne was a thing, I called into more than one radio show challenging his pro "free trade" position. That was enough for me. Likewise Rush supported NAFTA/GATT/WTO.

I do not know who John Green is, but his prior article about his “liberal” friends being embarrassed by Biden was pure fantasy. That article was a sufficient basis to not believe anything he says.

This article is, at best, yet another example of how clueless our side is. His phony dichotomy between hard core leftist and soft/fuzzy liberals is exactly the sort of rubbish propaganda aimed at stupid people on our side to keep us stupid. Citing a slimy propagandist like Shapiro is a dead give-away.

The actual dichotomy is between nomenklatura and apparatchiks, between inner party and outer party. Any other analysis leads to futility and pointlessness.

Green is particularly idiotic when talking about being “cool.” “Cool” in our present society simply means brainwashed and easily manipulated. Like Green.

Our culture is being trashed and has almost disappeared. We are looking at many, many years where re-building will be impossible. Character and integrity, not self-importance, are always the fundamental requisites, but even more intensely in the dark days ahead. We have to keep it together as best as possible.

Green’s bombast is so clueless and stupid, it is reasonable to believe he is just part of the usual psy-ops run on our side, which we always fall for.

“Sears catalog”. That’s actually a very good comparison. Or telling a gen z kid to buy a Buick. This is why conservatives like Candace Owens and younger are so important
