Brussels Prepares To Introduce “Vaccine Passports” To Save the EU and the European Tourism Industry

For nearly a year now, we've been monitoring the shift toward enabling digital "passports" that will allow at least some people - those wealthy and/or fortunate enough to get their hands on the vaccine - to continue traveling and going about their lives as normal, while others are forced to continue living with COVID-inspired restrictions, potentially for years.

According to a draft plan leaked to the FT, Brussels has proposed the creation of a COVID certificate to allow EU citizens who have been vaccinated, who have recently tested negative, or who can provide proof of recovery to move around the bloc more or less freely. Member states have been battling over whether a digital vaccine "passport" is appropriate, with countries like France arguing that a passport would discriminate against the poor.

Meanwhile, states like Greece and Spain, which are desperate to revive their faltering tourism industries, are arguing that the passports are essential for the economic salvation of millions of Europeans.

Notably, officials in Brussels are wary of using the term "passport". But at this point, the march toward their adoption seems inevitable.

EU governments would also be able to strike bilateral travel agreements with non-EU countries as long as they were approved by the commission beforehand, said the document. The tourism industry has been lobbying European governments to introduce common standards for travel amid concerns that the current system of country-by-country rules is confusing and putting people off booking.

Airlines have been pioneering these types of digital systems as they require customers to be tested and prove their COVID status, which is fortunate, since Brussels will likely need that proof of concept to develop its own program. With the AstraZeneca vaccine creating more delays for the EU’s vaccination campaign, the bloc likely won’t be anywhere near herd immunity by the end of the year.

And once started, just think of all the fun things they will add to it. Other medical information, required next of kin, social score

I hope Brussel’s vaccine passports are more popular than their sprouts.

Of course they do. Just as was planned when the CCP biolab released the virus.

Cheap travel to Spain and France I’m all for it. Texas scanned upon entry into the vax center your barcode for the appointment. Then at the table before the shot they scanned Both sides of the DL which Texas IDs have barcodes and a digital 3D code on the back that contains your two thumb prints and your face image with biometrics. They then scanned the.admission bar code again which is individualized I compared mine to the next people in lines behind and in front of me. Then they scanned the vial of the.vax once you were done they handed me a card with my proof of dose one. It has all my info, plus my individual number, manufacturer , batch, and vial numbers on it plus a spot for dose number two. The release form which I read before signing it gives information release to the county, state and federal government hippa doesn’t apply from that point forward. When we get dose two they will give us a second sticker on the card with a QR code linking to proof that’s digitally secured in the govt database so fraudulent cards will be very hard to make with a valid QR code that matches the biometric data for the actual person it’s attached too. That’s why they scanned the back of the drivers license it has that data to make the match = match on. I’m looking forward to flights internationally again I have friends in Spain and France.

Very similar procedure here in FL.
I am guarding my vax passport with same security as my US passport. Can’t wait to go on cruises as soon as they begin sailing from FL ports.

Show me your papers.

These vaccines are just like regular flu vaccines. Every year it’s going to be pick a vax from the hat so the sheeple will be placated. They won’t work due to viruses constantly mutating.

Excuse me while I sew on some gold stars.

I’m keeping mine with my passport in the firesafe. I have seen my dad’s dose two sticker it has a QR code that is the actual “proof” the cards won’t be valid on face value only when that QR code is scanned and remote verified to match the identity of the person holding it will it be valid. The idea that people will just be able to make copies is false. From the get go this is being linked to biometrics at least Texas is.

Right on. People who think it will be so easy to make fraudulent copies of vax passport are THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE ANTI_VAXERS.

Even after 60,000,000 Americans have already been vaccinated, and no reports of any mass casualties, the flat earthers prefer dying in a plastic tent inside the isolation ward of a hospital.

Don’t tell that too the Israelis. They have real world data against the original.strain, plus two of the.variants. Not only is Pfizer stopping deaths and hospitalization at 99+% it is 94% against infection at all and 96% against symptomatic infection. This is real world data not phase trials. In English what it means is Israel has proof the vaccine also stops the spreading as only 6% or less of the vaccinated were able to get sick enough to test positive on a 40 cycle PCR if they had used a 25 cycle it would have been even higher effective rate. For.comparison the vaccine that wiped smallpox off the face of the planet was 95% effective at preventing symptomatic infection.

Normally I’m not one to rush to get a new vaccine. Although having been in the services they jabbed us with countless of them. Plus my tropical travels. People get all worked up over counties requiring vaccine well it’s nothing new. When I went to equatorial Africa almost every country on landing required proof of yellow fever and dengue fever vaccines. Latin America as well. If you wanted to be a guest in their fine country you had to obey their entry requirements that’s how it should work with sovereign nations.

Quite correct. Vaccines are not meant to be 100% effective, but anything over 60% is worth the effort. Any sovereign entity can impose their own rules.

All these people who are resisting covid-19 vaccines should look into what happens to a patient when they end up in a hospital. They are 100% isolated, laying in a air-tight plastic tent, with high fever and on a ventilator. I can’t think of a lonelier way to die.

This ‘passport’ will never disappear. Having all those names on an international database is too good to let go to waste. It will be tempting to add things like social score (Thanks, rigelkentaurus)

Since Americans are some of the fattest sickest most alcoholic people on the planet nearly 50% of Americans over 40 have one or more morbidity issues that this bug likes to kill. I’m banking on more than 50% here are clinically over weight, have high blood pressure, have diabetes, metabolic syndrome, kidney disease , heart disease or liver distinction due to alcohol. I’m thinking 60% at least and yet those are the same anti science types buying into a vast Bill Gates conspiracy with microchips and targeted sterilizations and some black Swan mass die off to cull the evil humans. It’s tinfoil level paranoid behaviour really they should seek professional help for that level of delusion. I have read every scientific paper I can access via ebsco and scidirect about all three vaccines in American use nothing caught my professional eye as a scientist myself as being outside the proven scientific methods. I’m pro-choice so the whole HK293 cell line thing means a hill of beans to me. I’m fiscally conservative and an entrepreneur, long time investor, and Patriot the moral stuff I don’t sweat that’s for them and their God to work out I could care less if they bed with men ,or whatever stop taxing me to death for people who refuse to work hard

Wish you the best too.

FYI, the issue isn’t getting the vaccine now, but what happens when you encounter live virus next year. Will there be antibody dependent enhancements? Some people care about this issue even if you don’t. Calling them flat earth earthers is an interesting comment coming from someone that has either ignored, or discounted the risk. Especially for young people that have little risk from the virus.

Is this a high risk? Probably not, but it certainly is a valid concern.

So is viral immunity escape. If Geert Vanden Bossche has concern, so should everyone.

Meanwhile you have a vaccine that still allows you to catch the virus and potentially mutate into Something that may not be so benign down the road.

Flat earthers means —> anyone who is against any new idea or proposition. The scientist who proposed earth was round was seriously derided by the flat earthers.

I never ever said covid-19 has zero risk. Every vaccine has had bad effects on a few people. Even the influenza yearly vaccine has recorded some bad side effects.

So what a wise person should do is play the odds. That is what Jimmy the Greek always said. I weighed my odds of getting serious side effects from covid-19 vaccine versus what will happ0en to me if I do get seriously sick and end up in a hospital. I have read of thousands of patients isolated in wards inside a air-tight plastic tent. No one can visit them, and even their spouse can not hold their hands. What a miserable lonely way to die.

So I played the odds. If the vaccine will reduce my chances of getting seriously sick, it is well worth any risk. Now after 90 MILLION Americans and 98% of Israeli’s have already been vaccinated, there are no media reports of mass casualties.

How many people you think resisted the polio vaccine when it came out? I have news for you. Majority of people! Classic flat earthers I would say.
