In a new essay published Thursday, Capt. Kristen Griest, the first U.S. Army infantry officer, said lowering Army fitness standards could hurt the Army’s combat readiness and reduces the trust female soldiers can expect from their fellow soldiers.
In her essay for West Point’s Modern War Institute, Griest, who also became the first of three women to earn the Army Ranger Tab, said creating a separate fitness standard for women would reduce the overall effectiveness of Army combat units.
Referring to a proposed standard for women to run a two-mile test in under 21 minutes, Griest said “the presence of just a handful of individuals who cannot run two miles faster than twenty-one minutes has the potential to derail a training exercise, not to mention an actual combat patrol. Entire companies of 130 soldiers will be forced to frequently halt operations in order to medically evacuate the ill-prepared as they succumb to fatigue and injury.”
Griest said other soldiers will have to take up the burden of their unfit teammates, which could be inconvenient for training but deadly in combat.

Ya think?
Get that trouble maker outta here.
Captain Greist....
The Cadet Honor Code serves as the foundation of character development at West Point. Every Cadet is trusted not to lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those dishonest behaviors by other cadets. This creates a baseline of honest behavior and a culture that supports character growth
I guess once the Captain was commissioned all that went out the window, upon her showing up at Ranger School.
One of the four elements of a perfect PFT in the Marines is to complete THREE miles in under 18-minutes. For a man under the age of 30, 27:40 is a fail...again, for three miles. I'm 53 and I can still run it in under 19:00. I think failure for my age group is anything above 30:00.
At a pace equal to a 10:30-mile, you're barely jogging. And yet, they can't even raise their standard to two-miles in 21:00?
Good Lord, just give the keys to the country to China now and get it over with.
“Referring to a proposed standard for women to run a two-mile test in under 21 minutes”
They adopted that lower standard into to new (ACFT) (apparently to accommodate women), and then just extended it to everyone, avoiding the appearance of women performing differently.
The new lowest common denominator is officially in place, Army-wide. There are no more age categories either.
That’s why they’re performing sex changes to men..
The unasked question is “How will/has integrating women into the combat arms, by lowering the standards, improved the military’s ability to break things and kill enemies?”
Liberalism has taught women that they need never endure hardship or discomfort, and when exposed to it they must complain and demand the circumstances causing it be modified to accommodate them. In combat they’ll find it not as easy as just calling their lawyer.
BTW, for women Marines (WMs), they have to run 3-miles in ( I think) 30(ish) minutes, which is just a bit faster pace than what’s being expected of female soldiers.
How do WMs do? Not good. The Marines don’t go out of their way to publicize the failure rates. But, the last metrics I saw before I retired, the failure rate for women was EAILY above 60%. For men, it’s less than 5%.
So yeah, the Marines have more than their fair share of problems too. I can’t imagine what it’s like in the Navy or Air Force.
Look how fat Vindman was yet was still allowed to wear the uniform. That never would have been allowed just a decade or so ago. Things are deteriorating quickly.
“Lower female standards also reinforce the belief that women cannot perform the same job as men, therefore making it difficult for women to earn the trust and confidence of their teammates.”
*************************************************************
It’s not about ‘reinforcing the belief’. Women degrade a combat unit whether it be ground soldiers or Navy Personnel or Air Force units and that’s a fact. That said, it’s good to hear an honest woman soldier, who knows something about what she speaks, come clean on the subject.
‘I think failure for my age group is anything above 30:00.’
failure for what...? who fails them...?
No. Shit. Sherlock.
Any person with a working IQ and logic reasoning ability could work this out.
LOL
My comment wasn’t aimed at you, RomanSoldier19.
Just an fyi.
:)
How’d she get past the WOKE POLICE in the military?
This will end the formidable fighting ability of the U.S. Armed Forces. No point in maintaining our defense budget except for drones, satellites and nukes. No one will invade America anyway so if anyone dares to mess with us, we’ll just nuke them. We have problems at home to fix.
She’s right and imagine a male officer saying this truth. Our military is woke and the most vulnerable to defeat.
