Chicago aldermen begin debate on reparations for descendants of slaves
Chicago aldermen considered ways to provide reparations for descendants of slaves Thursday in the first meeting of a special City Council subcommittee on the issue.
The Subcommittee on Reparations within the council’s Health Committee is tasked in part with “examining the state of equity in the City of Chicago,” according to the resolution that created it.
The first meeting was mainly a chance for the group to get organized and hear from experts on the issue of providing reparations to Black residents who are the descendants of slaves.
Evanston Ald. Robin Rue Simmons talked about the important process of making sure there’s adequate community input into the plan from Black Chicagoans. Evanston opted to use sales tax revenue from marijuana sales to set up a housing reparations program there.
“You need to start the work now, a lifetime of work ahead of you,” Simmons said.

Same here. The Irish were slaves to the brits for 400 years, estonians enslaved for 600 years , jews enslaved for 400 years, blacks enslaved for 150 years in America.

Chicago is already broke. Once it become Detroit, everyone will finally be “equal”.
They will go by skin shade, and not by “descendants of slaves.” There is no genetic test to determine that. Perhaps a person will be required to produce a chain of birth certificates and marriage certificates, plus death certificates to prove this.
In that case I can prove that I did not descend from slaveowners and so I don’t pay.
All last summer was to condition us for reparations. It wasn’t enough. There will be another shooting by a White cop against the eternally victimized black male and the cop will be justified but the media and the race extortionists will turn it into another George Floyd, with entire sections of cities occupied by lawless rioters with the approval of the democrat mayors. Stores will be looted and then destroyed. Whites will be assaulted and killed with not a word in the media. The decrepit groper will declare that the legacy of racism is too great, and that it extends even to the royal court in London, and so all Whites must be reduced to quivering submission and their money taken and given to those poor slaves.
My Second great grandmother was an indentured servant from Ireland who was raped and made pregnant by the mill owner’s son and sent to a convent to have my great grandmother. Second great granny abandoned my great grandmother who ended up being raised by another family. I WANT MY FRIGGIN’ REPARATIONS!!!! NOW!!!!
The city of Chicago has been working very hard on this.
They have come up with several plans.
They wanted to eliminate any confusion on the plans, so they assigned a letter from the alphabet to each one, in alphabetical order.
They are now on Reparation H.
“We are going to give the taxpayers Reparation H right where it counts.”
Obviously, neither Chicago or Illinois can afford to pay anything but a token reparation. I suggest reserved seats at the back of buses as such a token.
I am not excusing slavery but the fact remains that If it were not for slavery brining their ancestors together to procreate, most African Americans alive today never would have been born.
