A huge wind farm off the Massachusetts coast is edging closer to federal approval, setting up what the Biden administration hopes will be a model for a sharp increase in offshore wind energy development along the East Coast.
The Vineyard Wind project, south of Martha's Vineyard near Cape Cod, would create 800 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 400,000 homes in New England. If approved, the $2 billion project would be the first utility-scale wind power development in federal waters. A smaller wind farm operates near Block Island in waters controlled by the state of Rhode Island.

Hopefully they block Obozo’s ocean view.
Biden hopes to make it downstairs for the shuffle toward his cereal bowl.
Who did they think they are kidding?
Hope Slow Joe remembers not to build within sight of Dead Ted’s slimy family houses.
Awesome headline.. Biden hopes to boost offshore wind as Mass. project advances
How is going to create wind? Butterfly effect or farts from the White House?
Windmills off Martha’s Vineyard and the Hamptons would make sense. Put them there.
Put it in front of Obama’s $17 million dollar soon-to-be underwater estate.
Ted Kennedy was the only reason this didn’t move forward.
As it’s an island..
It would be great for MV to make 100% of their power wind only.
out their money where their mouths are.
And watch the generator sales soar!!!
Baby the wind must blow. Baby the rain must fall.
in 25 years, when these things are spent, aren’t worth replacing or repairing, are rusting, and people are arguing over who should pay to remove them - at least the folks of Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod will enjoy looking at them, as a memento of what virtuous leftists they were.
“Cue the NIMBYs”
If I recall correctly, it was Ted Kennedy who first said no to this project.
“...Biden hopes to boost offshore wind...”
Biden’s idea to “boost” offshore winds is he is going to mount huge electric fans on the Mass shoreline facing east...They will blow strong winds which will, in turn, spin the huge generating windmills placed offshore....
Al Gore says this is a series idea....
Let me know when they can run a solar panel manufacturing facility on solar power or a wind turbine manufacturing facility on wind. Then they can call it sustainable.
How will these wind machines hold up when a real hurricane hits?
Yes, at a bargain residential rate of $1/kWh ! <snort>
Yep, or blow them up and pollute the waters and created dangerous underwater trash dumps.
Yes sir,,,,,, you must do something, even if it’s wrong
Bet this one works in winter.
