Texas state Rep. Bryan Slaton (R-Canton) introduced a bill proposing the border wall construction initiated under former President Donald Trump be completed by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
“President Trump fought to bring real border security and was opposed by Republicans and Democrats in Congress. While hundreds of miles of new wall were built under his leadership, the Biden administration has already ceased border wall construction,” Slaton said, reported The Texan.
Yes! And drop Beto on the Mexican side!
What would be the cost of a Texas wall completion?
Can a state build a wall along a national border?
“President Trump fought to bring real border security and was opposed by Republicans and Democrats in Congress.”
I wish this guy were my representative.
Can we donate funds to helping Texas finish that wall? I would donate in a heartbeat.
> Can a state build a wall along a national border?
One would imagine that a state could condemn land around the federally condemned border land, buy it for a fair price, and then simply build a wall in that state-condemned land.
all “immigrants” would then need to pass through or over or under the state wall.
state inspection officials could then at least check “immigrants” for drivers’ licenses, criminal records, and perhaps even bug tests.
Maybe, maybe not, but they can build it on a state border.
AMEN!
Well that is their state border so I guess it all comes down to whatever deal was made when TX became a state. I think there’s at least one city right against the border. San Antonio? Is part if that city on federal border easement? Is there such a thing as a federal border easement? I know fedgov owns a lot of border land further West that the dept of BLM oversees.
Sure! You don’t want foreigners peering into the windows of Taxans!
Put solar panels on the top and call it a solar colletor.
Paint a message on the southernside and call it a 500 mile informational sign.
Focus the solar collectors to reflect on one spot and see if anyone wants to be a candlestick
Great idea.
Total political win win.
Even for those who are totally against the shield.
The feds absolutely control the border, and will absolutely not let Texas have anything to do with it.
However, the entire livelihood of the Texas citizen and the existence of Texas itself, is on the line here.
By the feds kicking Texas in the face, (which the feds will do), it may provide Texans enough motivation to tell the US Constitution violator’s in DC to “take a long walk off a short pier”.
Actually like to see about 30 + other states join in.
If they became the Republic of Texas again they damn well could...on THEIR national border.
Go for it and put Marxist Beatoff Beto in the cement mix. No one will miss this psycho child-man.
Actually, Texas should go ahead and build a monster wall, immediately where the federal controlled border land ends. Not airspace, but on land.
This would automatically make the space/area within the current shield wall, a buffer/dmz type zone.
Then Texas could force the feds to hold all the immigrants within the zone if necessary.
I know the actual border extends beyond the current shield/wall toward Mexico as well, so there would be quite an area along the border.
.........uh, there are many cities right against the border in Texas. To name a few from memory are Brownsville, McAllen, Laraedo, Presidio, El Paso.
San Antonio is about 150 miles north of Brownsville.
,,,,,,,uh, I don’t live in TX and am not a geography expert. El Paso was the one I was thinking of now that you mention it though. I knew it was two words at least.
