America Must Replace Its Failed Elites
The American Mind ^ | 03/04/21 | Saurabh Sharma and Nick Solheim

Posted on 03/04/2021 2:58:13 PM PST by PoliticallyShort

The young founders of American Moment are committed to making vital changes in the conservative movement and injecting new energy into our coalition. We at The American Mind agree this must be done—and fast. Unfortunately, National Review, once a crucible for the best conservative thought, has become so defensive of its own position that it attacks any organization (including ours) which threatens to overturn the failed Republican leadership class. We are glad to host American Moment’s response to National Review’s ill-informed hit piece against them.

The old order that has dominated the Right for at least the last three decades is desperate to force its agenda on the country: endless foreign wars, cultural weakness, porous borders, corporate solicitude, and general apathy in the face of civilizational crises.

Thanks, Saurabh Sharma. We’ll get right on that.

Hmmm...
This seems to be based on a false premise...
Where have the so-called "elites" failed?

Seems to me that they have attained almost total power to do as they want and are using that power to control the American sheeple...

IMHO, they are a smashing success...
It is the American sheeple who are "failed" and, as yet, don't even realize it...

One would hope that, as the chains we are now wearing, get heavier and heavier, they will do something...anything...
Anything besides what they are doing now, which is:
Bow down!... Obey!... Snitch!...

Agreed.

But how do you plan on doing it? Voting in a thoroughly rigged system obviously isn’t going to do it.

Without exception, all GOP’ers in office over 50 have to go. They have all been compromised, in any fashion.

Hmmmm..... I would posit that 99.9% of those within the federal bureaucracy have been compromised and therefore should be fired.

Time for the Keyser Sose Protocol. It’s the only way to be sure.

For 30 years the GOP has had an agenda that is the opposite of MAGA, they have been turning the USA into North Mexico.

Almost all the “right” publications have been supporting them in their open borders/non-enforcement agenda.

If you went to the Ivy League you’d know the correct word is “hanged.”

And you would need to make on the gallows for Trump, Cruz, and Hawley, all Ivy grads.

I am seriously considering cancelling my subscription to National Review. When President Trump started his 2016 campaign for president, NR ran an issue with candidate Trump on the front cover titled “Philosophically Unmoored.” Before primaries occurred in California, I changed my registration from independent to republican in order to vote against him. Never happened, done deal before CA came up to vote. But, I would have been very wrong to vote against him. Had I done so and prevailed, a RINO would have run against Hillary and lost, and subsequently no Trump legacy.
I say NR is Philosophically Moored to standards and dreams that will never be fulfilled. What the hell good is that? President Trump was not from the swamp, and that is why all these RINOS hated him and despised him.

Why are there so many new organizations sprouting up and splitting up the conservative base? Why can't we just takeover and elevate existing groups?

Did the American Conservative magazine go away? What about VDare? or Taki's Mag? Those are all going concerns that could be fortified rather than starting up something new.

I dumped NR as well as the Atlantic a number of years ago. Replaced with Spectator, Chronicles, City Journal, and First Things. Better writing and broader deeper thinking.
