It was GM dealerships as part of Obama’s GM bailout. Our local GM dealer disappeared.
When we last went there, probably around mid-August, there was only one server working the dining room and the bartender was doing double-duty, making the drinks and waiting on tables as well. In fact, the bar was closed due to stupid state law, the bar stools were all turned upside down.
The owner came over after a while to apologize for the slow service and the high temperatures said that he was struggling to keep the place open and couldn't even afford to run the air conditioning at full speed. He could only afford to pay a handful of his better employees and they were all doing 2 or 3 times the work.
You could tell that he was working himself in the kitchen. A very nice guy just doing the best he could to stay in business. When we went by there again a month or two later, it was completely closed and obviously out of business.
What the state governors have done to small businesses is totally evil.
Agree 100% with your #2.
It led me to drastically reduce my time spent FReeping.
Covid is nothing more than a new type of flu. I got infected on the Carnival cruise last year, just had a dry cough for 12-14 days and it got all better by itself. Feeling as energetic as ever at age 80.
How many with government jobs are going bankrupt?
“How many with government jobs are going bankrupt?”
I’ll assume that’s a rhetorical question.

I didn't know they were going after GM dealerships too.
GM definitely had too many retail stores for the amount of market share they had fallen to. But it appeared that the political connections of the dealer principals had a lot to do with who got flushed.
It’s an ongoing problem as there are around 3000 Chevrolet dealers and 1200 Toyota ones. 900 Cadillac stores and 230 for Lexus.
Well, I appreciated those same FReepers who started sounding the alarm in mid-December. It was enough to at least catch some attention early on. Many here on FR got their prepping done early before the big announcement to shut-down have two weeks on hand was even a blip on the nation’s radar.
For many though, it was a no choice event. If the boss shut things down...they shut down. My company limped along and was able to operate as essential care workers, but even that still left us with a 80% loss of revenue.
As far as the business coach? Yeah, as we rolled into February last year I couldn’t stand to listen to her overly optimistic predictions. And I have already watched 3 major colleagues either close, file bankruptcy, or radically alter their business models. Many of the under 100,000 crowd were shocked to see that the loans being offered ...while forgivable if you jumped through all the hoops were not dismissible in bankruptcy if you failed. That’s the other shoe many may find themselves wearing thinking a bankruptcy will resolve the loans. Ideally one would payout the payroll, get it forgive, and just close. But few realize that those businesses most likely had other outstanding loans that EIDL or PPP didn’t cover.
Life is about to get very, very interesting for a lot of people.
On a side note, I just watched Soylent Green last night (watched it last in the 80's). Was kind of freaky to see the date on the book exposing the evil of the dystopian dictators in the story...things just get weirder and weirder. (And now Bill Gates wants "fake meat"..)
Also, a scene with people wearing masks in the film...
And the "COVID" injections were created by testing them using the cells of aborted children. Which is medical cannibalism.
And I always thought the thief in the night episode would happen when all was “normal”.
Looks like we might have some massive hurt before it happens.
Well we are getting back to “normal”
Now that you know Orange man bad gone /official propaganda
“Looks like we might have some massive hurt before it happens.”
The sheeples’ fear is not yet great enough to go full Big Brother on us.
Nuclear winter (1960’s), then anthropomorphic global cooling/ ice age (1970’s), then overpopulation/starvation (1980’s), then global warming/water world (1990’s) didn’t do the trick.
So now Covid19 is the next fear factor. And it’s been combined with intrusive actions — Behavior and travel dictates and rules with penalties, recovery loans with carbon fiber strings, vaccination site tattoo and Health ID in the works. But, there’s still enough unsheeple and open enough comm’s to see through their ploy.
The left/NWO is losing patience in taking full control, and I fear their next fear factor will be something terrible. In the book 1984, it was nuclear destruction.
