Nothing seems to scare the establishment more than a return to 'normal'. And by 'normal', we mean a return to an environment outside of the tyrannical control of career politicians and bureaucrats who have got a taste for this 'being king' stuff and know that anyone who questions their edicts will be 'canceled' by their Covidian cultists.
So, a week after Johns Hopkins surgeon, Dr. Marty Makary, penned an Op-ed in the WSJ saying that we will have herd immunity by April... and was instantly disavowed as 'dangerous', some awkward 'facts' and 'science' have been dropped by none other than FundStrat's Tom Lee.
"...cumulatively and slowly, the US is seeing more states reach that combined level of vaccinations + infections approach what is seen as herd immunity.”
So far, South Dakota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Arizona, Oklahoma, Utah, and Tennessee are the nearest.
Lee's "math" - which we also know is racist - appears to fit with Makary's arguments for why the recent plunge in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths is not policy-related (no matter how much the politicians and their media lackeys push that narrative):
"...the consistent and rapid decline in daily cases since Jan. 8 can be explained only by natural immunity. Behavior didn’t suddenly improve over the holidays; Americans traveled more over Christmas than they had since March. Vaccines also don’t explain the steep decline in January. Vaccination rates were low and they take weeks to kick in."
"Experts should level with the public about the good news..." exclaims Makary, and this data on imminent herd immunity puts more pressure on Fauci and Biden to come clean... despite their variant-fearmongering and "no return to normal until Christmas or beyond" predictions.
But of course, this reality may never be allowed in the national narrative, as Makary previously concluded:
"Some medical experts privately agreed with my prediction that there may be very little Covid-19 by April but suggested that I not to talk publicly about herd immunity because people might become complacent and fail to take precautions or might decline the vaccine. But scientists shouldn’t try to manipulate the public by hiding the truth. As we encourage everyone to get a vaccine, we also need to reopen schools and society to limit the damage of closures and prolonged isolation. Contingency planning for an open economy by April can deliver hope to those in despair and to those who have made large personal sacrifices."
But, but, the science!?
As I have often posted, protect those of age and comorbities. Let the disease go through the rest of the younger population that is at very small risk and we achieve herd immunity.
Our handling of this disease was medical insanity driven by politics. Unfortunately the bad guys won.
No one has paid a bit of attention to whether there is a “mask mandate” or not out here-I doubt anyone even knows whether there is one-most of us have not worn a mask from day one-I have one in the pocket of my jeans in case I really want to go into the hardware store that asks you to wear one-none of the other stores ask for a mask-of course this is a rural area, with few people, too-not a Karen-crowded city...
My anecdotal stories are much worse with a high percentage of hospitalizations and a couple of deaths. But I’m glad your friend had a very mild case.
It all is like a satanic cult. Some form of enslavement is always the tipoff.

I can believe that-I increase the immune support vitamins/supplements every flu season since I don’t get flu shots, and it works-but I got the Wuhan virus last March when there were tourists filling all the cabins and RV parks on the river out here during Spring break-and they were all running around in the tourist traps and stores wearing masks-even some of the little kids who were still in strollers-poor babies-we locals had not been wearing them all that much, but those tourists were-and the highest numbers we had in this county for the whole Wuhan thing happened a week or so after Spring break with all the masked tourists...
Fortunately, I had a mild case of the virus-had symptoms/felt sick for 2-3 days and got rid of it with a homeopathic flu remedy I keep on hand-no one else I knopw was really sick with it out here, either-a lot of us are all-organic, natural living types, too-might have something to so with our milder cases, but I don’t really know...
I suspect that what I'm actually having trouble with is that I'm trying to find their reasons. They don't have reasons though, they have emotions and feelings.
That seems to be at the root of it, though I'm only talking about actual people, I understand that the Pols want their power, and the media goons want their clicks.
Fear, certainly is a powerful component. But the dopamine high from trying to shame their neighbors (and errant family members) is a part of it as well.
At perhaps an even more basic level, the disconnect between the conservative minded folks and the liberals is that conservatives just accept, at some fundamental level, that we can't direct nature, that despite our best efforts, quite a few things are outside of human agency and control.
My cousin was heatedly complaining about the "genocidal public policy response" to the pandemic, and I honestly don't know what he's talking about. At this point, surely his reason tells him that the "public policy approach" had nothing at all to do with containing, or not containing, the spread of the WuFlu. I should just accept that the liberals have abandoned reason, and have put themselves at the mercy of the hard left.
It is entirely a cult. Those masks have become talismans.
I don’t know how anybody could ever have taken Fauci seriously. I was surprised that Trump did at first, but actually, it wasn’t Trump who made Fauci the big cheese.
That was Pence, who picked Fauci to be the lead after Trump had made Pence the pointman on his Covid response. Trump did this with the legitimate goal of avoiding politicization, since he knew that whatever he did would be opposed by the Dems simply because he had done or proposed it. But it didn’t work out well, because Pence basically just let Fauci (a Trump hating Dem swamp bureaucrat ) take over the whole show.
We saw TWO separate cars, on I10, today, with only ONE person (driver) and, they were wearing a dang mask, while driving by themselves, on a highway.

This is just insane....how skeert they’ve made people. One was a younger (25 -30) female, the other and older (50ish) female.
Unreal.
The Herd Immunity Threshold (HIT) is a function of the basic reproductive number (R0). The formula is 1-1/R0. The April 2020 variant of SARS-CoV-2 had an R0 of about 2.5, or 60%. The newer variants from South Africa and the UK have an R0 somewhere between 4.3 and 5.7, or 77-82%. Those variants are already in the US. Our HIT number is 77-82%.
We’ll reach that sometime in July. Between existing infections, new infections, existing vaccinations, and new vaccinations, our trend has us there within 5 months time. Once we reach that, new cases - nationally - will dwindle towards zero. The further past HIT we go, the faster that process will happen. By the end of this year, the media will report on individual cases and outbreaks in isolated areas because that’s all that’s left.
There is no “immunity” provided by so called herd immunity. It is merely a lack of exposure.
I've thought of it often during this corona virus mess.
In my mid-70s, it's time to get busy living or it's time to get busy dying.
But stop wasting what little time you have left on this earth trying to play it too safe.
