A statement from Kathryn Limbaugh and family said Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was honorably laid to rest Wednesday in St. Louis, with close immediate family in attendance. There will be additional celebrations of Rush's life to come both virtually and in his home town of Cape Girardeau, the statement said. It was later confirmed that Limbaugh was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery, a historic cemetery in St. Louis where many other famous Missourians have been laid to rest.
Rest in Peace, brother.
Prayers for his family, and the repose of his soul.

Of touching a hand-And finding it God’s!
Of breathing new air-And finding it celestial!
Of waking up in glory-And finding it home!”

Was still almost getting teary-eyed yesterday thinking about Rush. He was like a father to me.
Their website gives tribute to his support and generosity.
That's why the Marine is at his funeral.
Every day during the three hours as they play the older broadcasts I do too.
I was also thinking in terms of the flag on his coffin. But if the Presidential Medal of Freedom grants those honors, that totally makes sense.
Would prefer that it had been kept a closely guarded secret...
Regarding the Marine Staff Sergeant at Rush’s burial. My guess is that he is there as a “Thank you” from Marines for Rush’s decades long support for the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.
A single Marine and a flag draped coffin is not what I consider “military honors” as I knew them during 20 years in the Army and having served on Army funeral details, thus no one in the government need to have authorized it. Full honors are a flag detail, firing squad, and bugler playing taps. As a retired Army Captain, I can appear at a funeral wearing my uniform if I wish. I cannot wear it at a political function.
Its website: https://www.mc-lef.org/
The MC-LEF opening page reads:
OUR BOARD IS DEEPLY SADDENED AT THE LOSS OF OUR ESTEEMED BOARD MEMBER, MR. RUSH LIMBAUGH. RUSH, MAY YOU REST IN PEACE & GOD’S SPEED. YOU HAVE HELPED SO MANY OF OUR RECIPIENTS WITH YOUR GENEROSITY AND SUPPORT.
THE MCLEF RUSH LIMBAUGH MEMORIAL “GIANT OF PHILANTHROPY” SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN PERPETUITY.
I am glad that Rush was buried, rather than cremated. Now
we can go visit his grave. This is so much better than having Rush’s ashes sit on somebody’s fireplace, or dumping his ashes where ever they please.
Rush was a class act and had a class funeral/burial.
“We bury our treasures and burn our trash.”
Good info. Thanks.
We live within earshot of a funeral home.
We can always tell a military funeral, which is quite common here, Eglin AFB, because of the gun salutes and the bagpipes playing Amazing Grace in the parking lot................
Freeper EBH posted this in another thread regarding the flag draped over Rush’s coffin:
Question:
May a person, other than a veteran have their casket draped with a United States flag?
Answer:
Yes, although this honor is usually reserved for veterans or highly regarded State and National figures, the Flag Code does not prohibit this use. (Americanism Commission)
RIP, dear Rush !
How I miss 2019. Everything was perfect. The economy was going gangbusters. Enemies of America were cowering. Trump was reigning supreme over enemies domestic and foreign and coasting to reelection. Rush was breathing fire into the golden mic. Then fast forward into Spring of 2021..
This was discussed on the other thread. It’s not clear that Rush received full military honors. Anyone can have their casket draped with the flag. The lone Marine in the picture may have been there because Rush contributed millions to, and was a board member of, the Marine Law Enforcement Foundation.
RIP Big Guy.
May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.

Dem scum denied 30 second moment of silence today in the Senate I believe it was
that makes more sense than to say the Medal he got gives him the rights to a military funeral. i dont think it does.
