A statement from Kathryn Limbaugh and family said Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was honorably laid to rest Wednesday in St. Louis, with close immediate family in attendance. There will be additional celebrations of Rush's life to come both virtually and in his home town of Cape Girardeau, the statement said. It was later confirmed that Limbaugh was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery, a historic cemetery in St. Louis where many other famous Missourians have been laid to rest.

Had Trump been president, I'm sure Rush's body wold have lain in repose at the Capitol Rotunda, and I'm equally sure that Rush would have been granted military honors by the president.
But the Biden Administration would never grant these honors. So who did?

The Presidential Medal of Freedom may have some bearing on this.
Some have said that the Medal of Freedom carries such honors.
But Rush was a big contributor to the Marine charities....................

He received Medal of Freedom. Highest civilian honor possible.
That was my immediate thought.
It seems to have been a very private ceremony.
Would have been nice to have given Rush the super-duper funeral service that he really deserved, but his wife was wise to keep things simple and at a distance from the kooks.
When I visited Graceland, I saw that Elvis was buried next to the swimming pool. Guide said that they had to relocate him from a cemetery as too many people were chipping fragments off the gravestone.
Ah, that makes sense.

Father we ask that you welcome your servant Rush into heaven as he now returns the talent on loan from God unto Your hands. We thank you for his life and the common sense he spoke daily. Please watch over Katherine, mend her heart and bring her peace.
Such sorrow for those left-behind, and yet for all souls who are breathing heavenly air, such overwhelming and endless joy with Christ.
