Beijing Seeks to Acquire US Technology by Enticing Silicon Valley Startups to Set Up in China
Epoch Times ^ | 02/23/2021 | Nicole Hao

In China’s bid to acquire advanced technology from the United States, officials from the north-central city of Baoding tried to meet with Silicon Valley executives and discuss deals for companies to set up offices there, according to internal government documents that The Epoch Times obtained recently.

Citing the Chinese regime’s key strategy of “bringing technologies in, exporting our products out,” the Baoding government detailed a successful example: it attracted AXT Inc., a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of semiconductor substrates, to set up a factory in Dingxing county, Baoding.

The semiconductor substrates are components for making electronic chips, which power nearly every electronic device.

The Chinese regime has sought to accelerate the development of its domestic chipmaking industry, setting a goal of domestically producing 70 percent of its semiconductor needs by 2025, an objective under Beijing’s industrial policy of “Made in China 2025.”

China’s chipmakers still lag behind global manufacturers despite heavy government investment.

AXT Inc. was co-founded by Taiwanese-American Morris Young in Fremont, Calif. in 1986. All of its manufacturing is done in China, including a factory in Dingxing, which is named Baoding Tongmei Crystal Manufacturing (AXT Dingxing).

According to Chinese business registration records, ATX Dingxing was set up on July 28, 2017 with $29.51 million in registered capital.

The internal documents that The Epoch Times obtained includes the cooperation contract signed between the Dingxing county government and AXT in May 2018.

In the contract, the Dingxing government promised to strongly support AXT Dingxing’s development through “national policies” and provincial regulations. AXT promised that it would invest more on research and development, and send more specialists to work in Dingxing.

The contract also planned for AXT Dingxing to set up a postdoctoral research station, which would focus on new technology innovations.

AXT did not respond to a request for comment.

Can’t read the entire article without giving my email, which I won’t do.

But I was interested in your post since the last several days I’ve watched a few documentaries on China. “New Money” really spells out the incredible growth of China and how it may likely dominate the 21st Century. The last few minutes of the film turn into an infomercial, but ignoring that ugly part, it is worth watching. No wonder the “powers that be” used every possible means to stop President Trump’s America First plans and cheated him of his rightful second term. Everything tech and beyond is moving to China or is already there. Jim Rogers and others give candid interviews about it.

Another documentary is a little more dated (2015) but still informative: “China vs. USA: Empires at War.”

If you put your business in China - they own you and everything you possess. Lock.stock.and barrel. You are their bitch.

There’s no other way to put.

China’s been using that strategy to successfully acquire US technology for several decades now.

They just acquired the White House and solidified their control of the DC power structure so getting copies of a few more critical tech patents or blueprints ought to be a simple exercise.

1. Is brazen, outright theft in the wide open "spying"?

2. What company would actually do this, and think what they are doing is OK?

Very, very often, when the Chicoms allow a factory to be built, they build another factory, exactly the same, right next to it. Then, they just replicate it, down to the last nut and bolt. While it is true that they do a large amount of espionage to obtain plans and methods, they also do the above. A foreigner building a factory has no choice, other than not getting in bed with the Chicoms in the first place.

If you want to learn what China is really like stop watching CCP made propaganda videos (New Money) and watch vloggers like laowy86 (an American) or SerpentZA (a South African white) who actually lived, worked, and married in China for decades, until they were driven out by the CCP.

The CCP wants to control everything and only allows pro-CCP organizations, even in foreign countries. If an organization is big enough, the CCP will try to control it; if it won’t cooperate, the CCP will treat it as an enemy.” - mainland Chinese overseas student. Yes, I already considered the documentaries I mentioned as partly propaganda and infomercial. At the same time I feel they contain a certain amount of information which may help to understand why global money is focused on China and proceeded to steal the election from President Trump.

But thanks for the additional links to watch. I’m sure they will be interesting also.
