“Asian-Americans are caught in a bind—condemn the system of white supremacy and privilege along with other people of color or be ‘banished’ from the victim group as white-adjacent,” says Wenyuan Wu, executive director of Californians for Equal Rights. “The end goal here is to pit people against each other as if our hyphenated identities are bigger than our common destiny as Americans.”
The principal reason for this is the fact of Asian-American achievement. This is an embarrassment to progressives because it undermines the claim that structural racism dooms nonwhite citizens to the margins of the American dream. So Asian-American achievement must either be dismissed as somehow white or sacrificed at the altar of equity.

Sorry, wokesters, but that does not fly. Asians aren't any smarter but many Asian students work their asses off to score well at school. Call it culture or maybe it's because there are more dual-parent Asian families, but you can't explain it away.

I also would ask why Asians weren’t considered minorities when money was given out for minority businesses.

A co-worker who was black majored in chemistry and worked with me in a laboratory. His family accused him of acting white. Then I asked him how many white students at his school majored in chemistry. He said none, they were all from Asia except him.
I told him to tell his family he was acting Asian, not white. The first time he did so they stopped telling him he was acting white.
The highest earning ethnic group in the US is not white - it’s Indian-Americans, who out-earned white households almost 2:1 in 2019. How are they “white adjacent” if they’re earning twice what white households make?
I have no problem with white adjacent.
Asians don’t moan and groan much.
They’re too industrious.

Same here and I live in the Bay Area. Most of my family around here vote Dimm and yet they all claim to espouse conservative values of family, industry, and liberty. They apparently cannot see the irony in all this.
