In a shocking development in the ongoing censorship debate, two influential Democrat members of the House of Representatives have taken the first steps to challenge the continued availability of conservative channels Newsmax, OANN, and Fox News on mainstream cable, satellite, and streaming television platforms. Multichannel News reported on the story yesterday in an article titled “House Dems Pressure Distributors to Justify Carrying Fox News, Others.”
California Democrats Reps. Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney have written to a dozen cable, satellite and streaming companies calling on them to better combat disinformation – which they principally identify as Fox, Newsmax and One America News Network (OANN) – and grilling them on what they plan to do about it.
Among other things, the letter to the companies by Eshoo and McNerney attacked the three conservative news channels as “misinformation rumor mills and conspiracy theory hotbeds that produce content that leads to real harm.”
The Democrats’ February 22 letter to Comcast, AT&T, Dish, Verizon, Roku and the seven other companies demanded that they respond to a laundry list of seven intrusive and intimidating questions:
1. What moral or ethical principles (including those related to journalistic integrity, violence, medical information, and public health) do you apply in deciding which channels to carry or when to take adverse actions against a channel?
2. Do you require, through contracts or otherwise, that the channels you carry abide by any content guidelines? If so, please provide a copy of the guidelines.
3. How many of your subscribers tuned in to Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN on [Fill in the company's distribution platforms] for each of the four weeks preceding the Nov. 3, 2020 elections and the Jan. 6, 2021 attacks on the Capitol? Please specify the number of subscribers that tuned in to each channel.

Republicans are just as anxious as Dems to silence conservatives. But as part of the theater, the Republicans have to sometimes act concerned.
Republicans in the DC Swamp helped oust Pres. Trump and just assumed that they would regain power in 4 or 8 years just like they always did in the past. They counted on the DC Swamp Democrats cooperating with them but didn’t count on them seizing absolute power and holding on to it.
Eshoo is my Rep, sorry to say. I’ve never voted for the witch. She’s been in that CA CD-18 seat since 1993. She turns 80 next year. All these Democrats are dropping their masks covering their totalitarian true selves as they get into old age.

We have seen the suspension of the 1st Amendment in the last year because of a virus. We have seem calls for the suspension of the 1st Amendment due to political differences. We have seen private companies now worth hundreds of billions of dollars influence politics and crush free speech.
Who will stop them? SCOTUS? The GOPe? DOJ? Moderate democrats? Unicorns?
Well, a lot of them are so old that this is their last chance to let loose their inner despot before their master comes a calling
But like the old adage says, money talks and BS walks. As long as there is money to be made carrying a channel there will people there to carry it.
It already has happened. All of them are terrified to report on Dominion machines and barely mention voter fraud.
That is exactly right! I have been screaming this, but about this new behemoth stimulus bill that has little to do about COVID. Why don’t they hold a presser, list it all and explain to the American people exactly what it means and who it benefits.
Those billion dollar lawsuits are not about honesty, but mere intimidation.
My condolences.
Schiff is mine and I never once voted for him, and yes, as he's getting up in years, he's become even worse. No consequences for hounding Trump for years which wasted untold taxpayer monies and made him look like a food.
Yet the idiots around here keep voting for him in large numbers (unless the machines are rigged, which from my vantage point seems a very likely possibility).
Next, the totalitarians will want the names of those subscribers.
