“
Why do I suspect that 99.9% of the tribe members don’t give a hoot about this car name?”
************
Why do I suspect that a good number of the tribe members drive a Cherokee or other Jeep products?
NOW! At a dealer near you!
The all-new for 2022,
JEEP PUSSY!
..or how about the JEEP TENDERFOOT!
..maybe the JPP PANSY!
..can’t wait to coff up about $70,000 for one o’ them!
Wonder how many Indians own one.
Maybe he should open a casino on tribal lands.
They can rename it the “Springsteen” and have it run on “fire water” like he does.
Harumph!
I once read that the name of every Native American tribe could roughly be translated as ‘Human Beings’ since they did not consider other tribes to be civilized humans...............
To make it 100% legit, Chrysler / Fiat / Brand of the Week could merge with that maker of Fine Chinese Cars, Honqui.

I’ve never owned a white or black car.
If they renamed the vehicle “American” should we Americans be offended?
Very few of us left.............................
Does the tribe have a copyright on the name Cherokee?
Didn’t think so.
I’m actually totally in favor of having Jeep drop this name and apologize for the cultural appropriation. After all in it’s Super Bowl commercial Jeep was trying hard to show how woke they were. I’d be glad to see them put their money where their mouth is.
It would be quite amusing to see this come back to bite them on the ass.
> We are probably headed toward something like Peoples’ Car #1. <
LOL
“It’s funny because it’s true.”
Sheldon Cooper
Rename the Pioneer while at it too.
Re “Native American”
Wait ... I’m confused... are they MORE “Native American” than the native Americans THEIR ancestors overran and conquered when they crossed the Bering land bridge from Asia and came here??? Or are they NATIVE-native American?? Or Native twice-removed American??? Or Really Really REALLy American, but Native????
/s as if...
Maybe Chiefy is a conservative and hates Bruce marketing the Cherokee as much as the rest of us?
How come the Vespucci family has never demanded royalties?
Exactly true and well written.
You *should* be offended. It was awful.
Entirely aside from SJW/PC issues, given the huge reliability and quality problems that Jeep's having with their products, I wouldn't want my (hypothetical) tribe's name associated with them either...
