Together with a few other tech and media corporations, Microsoft has formed a coalition focused on fighting “disinformation” and fake news. The other founding members of the coalition are Truepic, Intel, BBC, Adobe, and Arm.
Disinformation and fake news have become prevalent buzzwords to create a justification to censor in this digital age. It’s now very easy for people to formulate and spread falsehoods, according to the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity.
“There’s a critical need to address widespread deception in online content — now supercharged by advances in AI and graphics and diffused rapidly via the internet. Our imperative as researchers and technologists is to create and refine technical and sociotechnical approaches to this grand challenge of our time. We’re excited about methods for certifying the origin and provenance of online content. It’s an honor to work alongside Adobe, BBC and other C2PA members to take this critical work to the next step,” Microsoft wrote in a blog post announcing the coalition.
According to Microsoft, the C2PA will “develop content provenance specifications for common asset types and formats to enable publishers, creators and consumers to trace the origin and evolution of a piece of media, including images, videos, audio and documents.”
Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates has been a big supporter of modern moves to censor more on social media.

Gates is a sociopath.
A woman who literally was young in Nazi Germany told me in the early 1970s “Many people in America are like the ones we had in Germany. They feel insecure with too much freedom. Freedom is ok to a point but people with too much freedom need some control over them to feel better.”
True story. Another I worked with said her birth certificate in Germany had Hitler’s signature on it-—she knew it was a stamped signature but still was Hitler’s for all babies born around then. Creepy.

SAN JOSE, Calif., and REDMOND, Wash. — Feb. 22, 2021 — A group of influential technology and media companies has partnered to form the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), a Joint Development Foundation project established to address the prevalence of disinformation, misinformation and online content fraud through developing technical standards for certifying the source and history or provenance of media content. Founding members Adobe, Arm, BBC, Intel, Microsoft and Truepic seek to establish a standardized provenance solution with the goal of combating misleading content.
It does not say or indicate this: “This initiative is to provide publishers with the means to ensure their product is traceable and any alteration can be detected.”
It’s talking about information provenance, not product.
In other words if information is not if acceptable provenance (Ministry of Truth) it is disallowed.
During an interview at the Wall Street Journal Summit in London, Gates complained that the suggestions for suppressing conspiracy theories and “misinformation” on Big Tech platforms are “less creative than we need at this point” and called for “smart solutions.”This is about propagating manmade viruses and the vaccines that must necessarily accompany them. In order for everyone to accept the vaccine, no one must disclose the origin of the virus. Since "Event 201" or the release of the Wuhan virus, we have all been participants in the trial run of the one-world government takeover. They are still working out the kinks. Next time there will be no dissent. When asked about the role of tech platforms when it comes to dealing with misinformation, Gates lamented what he described as a human “weakness” for “titillating things” such as claims that the coronavirus is man-made or “that there’s some conspiracy.”
Gates added that social media platforms allow this type of content to spread very quickly:
“That stuff spreads so much faster than the truth which is, you know, it comes from a bat, you know, we’re still trying to figure out the exact path of transmission.” Gates said. “You don’t forward that the same that way you would the conspiracy.”
It’s actually amusing watching these tech-giants contemplate their role in choking off information. It can’t be done. They tried it in the Soviet Union you dick-holes and information just flows around the obstruction like water to the ocean.
Government authorizes Big Tech to do the censorship for it.
Satan likely used the pie-in-the-face incident to completely turn him to the dark side.
Modern-day book burners. History is replete with them.
Look at how they disrupted communication on the ground January 6th in D.C. They can spot-check now. Also, look at how the flow of information here on FR has been changed by infiltrators. They are getting very, very close to their one-world government takeover.

I'm also not a gamer, solitaire and being able to host jack box party games via Steam on Linux is about the limit for me.
I get it that for people such as yourself, Windows or Mac is your platform of choice due to apps you require. For the overwhelming majority of people who need basic web browsing, video/music play and Office 365 (Web) / Open Office Doc type capabilities, Linux works.
Sorry to learn of your reading comprehension problems.
I know the difference between the word content and the word product.
Your attempt at snarky insult illustrates your lack of argument to support your contention.
I’ve spent several weeks working on switching. Complications arose:
Took too much effort to install ExpressVPN on Manjaro so switched to Pop OS.
Then, I needed to find something to replace Macrium Reflect for bare metal restore. Found RescueZilla. Worked great.
Got steam games to work after enabling Proton.
After much work I received a security update and Steel Division 2 stopped working correctly.
Main point: Windows works with such ease while Linux requires much labor for me and then when I get it just right BOOM.
Yes. Content, not product.
Oh like the election was stolen right?
Or save the baby from being murdered right?
Gates and his b*tch wife can both ESAD.
For publishers, content is their product.
“For publishers, content is their product.”
Yes. But this does not indicate integrity of a copyrighted article, for example, is what is being monitored.
It is monitoring information, not piracy.
