Wollman Rink is one of the most delightful spots in Manhattan. You skate in the park with the hustle and bustle of the streets outside Central Park as a background and one can look at at the high rises among the trees. Back in my youth, Wollman Rink was shut down for renovation and of course the NYC government botched the job. Trump stepped in and renovated the rink in a matter of weeks using his own money. What Trump did was a great service to the public.

Wollman Rink is much nicer than ice skating at Rockefeller Center. I took the family skating at Rockefeller as it was disappointing. The ice surface is horrible and there are too many people for the small rink.

They are just in no position to eliminate any revenue sources right now; the city is in terrible shape financially (which is why the election had to be stolen - Trump and/or a Republican Congress weren’t going to throw billions at our dying, obsolete cities filled with non-producers.

I suspect that was Kaiser Wilhlem DeBlasio's problem, especially if the city was going to be sued for breech of contract by the Trump organizations. The ignoramus opened his mouth before someone in the know could set him straight.

The other issue may be that although under the Trump organization umbrella, the operators were minority, women, or small business enterprises.

He knows that if he gives the concession to one of his cronies, it will be an utter fustercluck, and Trump will look good by comparison and he will look like the idiot he truly is.

Wilhelm, of course, couldn’t allow anything positive to be associated with the name Trump. But surprise, surprise, even a$$hole politicians with fake Italian names have to cave to public pressure.
