Texas Warning: Videos From Concerned Citizens Show Parasites In The Water As Most Texans Ignore The Warnings
Defiant America ^ | 02.21.2021 | Mack Cogburn

After enduring multiple days of freezing temperatures and Texans dripping faucets to prevent frozen pipes from bursting, cities across the state warned residents that water levels are dangerously low and may be unsafe to drink.

They’re telling Texans to boil tap water for drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, and making ice — as residents have been struggling to maintain power and heat while an unprecedented winter storm whips across the state.

While activities such as showering and doing laundry are safe, cities underwater boil notices are asking people to conserve water if at all possible.

Approximately 590 public water systems in 141 Texas counties have reported disruptions in service, affecting nearly 12 million people, according to a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality spokesperson.

Houston mayor Sylvester Turner advised residents of the southern city, the fourth-largest in the US, to boil theirs until Sunday or Monday in the interests of safety.

“The water is not clean for us and so, we shouldn’t drink it, we shouldn’t cook with it, and we shouldn’t give it to ourselves to drink or even to our pets,” local physician Dr. Christine Le told ABC 13. “We have to be very safe at this time.”

“It’s very dirty, lots of germs, there could be viruses in there, hepatitis, there could be bacteria. These are germs that could definitely get a person very ill, get their pets ill, send you to the hospital… during this trying time, that’s just not something that could be very helpful for any of us.”

It seems that it might take more time until the water is drinkable because videos from this morning posted by concerned Texans show parasites in the water.

What people don't realize is that it could take 2-3 months to make water safe if there is a brain-eating amoeba, like the one that killed the 6-year old kid! Stay safe my fellow Texans!

Anytime a water system is compromised a boil order should go into effect. I can’t believe this is not being broadcast to all areas suffering broken water mains or water systems failures.

SAWS declared San Antonio no longer has to boil water. Just to be safe we are waiting another week or two just to be certain.

Regardless of what parasite you catch from the bad water, it will still be counted as the China virus...

There have been parasites crossing the Rio Grande for years.
I just did not expect the media to describe them honestly.

They should use the water as needed, but I would advise
vigorous boiling and exposure to direct sunlight for ten
minutes before using.

fill a five gallon bucket with water attach a UVC light bulb to the top, close it and leave the light on for a couple of hours should do the trick for bulk water purification

Not very good film.

The one we can see things, may just be bugs in the water or larvae of some. I can’t tell what the are but I do think I see legs.

Not sure this is “parasites”, per se.

“There have been parasites crossing the Rio Grande for years.

Local TV hack had a story about legal refugees this morning. Didn’t mention how much it cost tax payers for Catholic charities to resettle them. She also mentioned the “refugees” “arriving” from south of the border. As if they just materialized in the U.S..

“We’re Here!”.

Anytime system pressure falls grow 20 PSI a boil water is issued per AWWA standards. Also by having everyone boiling their water before using cuts down on consumption, however, in this case I believe it is justified. Usually the lab requires 2 consecutive days of clean test before boiled water order is lifted..

They sell water jugs at the stores. keep at least 5 on hand at all times. It is like TP, you don’t go roll by roll waiting for government to deliver.

You should distill your own water. They make distillers for under 70$

Bleach less than 6 months old is the easiest - not quite as good as boiling, but good enough for Clorox and agencies that deal with dirty water to recommend. Also, don’t use any kind of ‘cute’ bleach as they have other chemicals in them, like scents and God knows what else, just ‘plain’ bleach.

8 drops per gallon is the amount, you’ll barely taste it. If you don’t mind a little taste and want to be on the ‘safer’ side, you can go up to 16 drops, but leave it at that.

By the way, there are 660 drops to one ounce of bleach, so you’ll both be able to still do your laundry and the bleach concentration in the water is TINY...but it will knock out the bugs.

(I’ve also heard that the reason boiling is always recommended is that Americans are unable to do the math needed to figure out how much bleach to use, if they don’t have a calculator)

Probably would. For bacteria I still think boiling is
important, but I’m not an expert on it.

I would do that.

Your idea is a good one.

Somebody who was truly obsessive/compulsive probably measured it.

Just make sure it is fairly new bleach, the active chlorine ions in bleach denature over time by reacting with air and everything else, especially biological material by combining with those materials and oxidizing them.
