Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to allegations that he flew to Cancun, Mexico, in the midst of record cold temperatures and snowfall in Texas—which has been besieged by power outages over the past several days.
Cruz appeared to confirm that he went to Cancun, saying that “with school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
“My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas,” he said in a statement on Thursday, referring to the power outages and, in some cases, loss of water.
Don’t get blinded by Shiny Objects. Makes one say stupid things.
Maybe as a father and man he wanted to see the girls get there safely.
You’re living proof of that.
You’ll get no argument here.
He stayed. In fact he stayed longer and worked 2 days longer than his shift. His fellow coworkers and boss needed help. (1/2 the employees left for Seattle tho lol). At 23 he said ‘that's what a man does. You lead from the front. You don't run off’. He made me proud. I'm glad he's home again tho.
Then why did Cruz admit he made a mistake?
He made a mistake. Admitted it and life goes on.
Is that you, Heidi?
Thanks for the mention.
Sounds like you’ve got a great son there.
LoL
And some people so easily parrot Democrat verbal assaults!
If you think a politician and more specifically a Senator can save a state you may be at the wrong place.
And if he would have stayed here, the situation would have changed?
“Or how about you take your daughters with you in work clothes, boots and gloves, and teach them to pitch in and help...”
Out of all the comments I’ve received...both agreeing with me and the snarky ones...yours is the best and most common sense suggestion. Darn good idea!
and stay home to take care of your dog. Snowball can come live with me- i won’t put him in a freezer.
and i’m not a crazy dog person, but that was a doosh move.
He was pleading with the dipstick Louisiana Governor and New Orleans mayor to order an evacuation. He was staging FEMA and getting everything on the nearest highest ground in place. He was also playing his guitar at his ranch in Texas in the evenings to unwind at the end of the day.
When the stuff hit the fan and New Orleans got flooded with the unused evacuation school buses underwater as well, the mayor and governor skated (because they were in the "D" club) and the press ran pictures of Bush playing his guitar.
Send his family to Cancun, stay for the photo-ops of walking the powerlines or whatever would've been the right choice here.
Perfect!
Texas had no “neediness” for Ted Cruz.
Ted had a neediness to turn his own state’s disaster into a personal recreational opportunity.
The “optics” were one of showcasing personal Privilege and means, and no representation or regard for the plight of the people.
Any boob knows there’s a price to pay when any representative of the people abandons any proximity to, and all appearances of empathy for a million of them left behind, with no heat and lights, some without water, in 2 degree temperatures.
Politics, 101.
I know it’s a shock for ya’, but stupidity generally gets criticized.
Then why did Cruz feel the need to rush back to Texas, admit he made a
mistake and rush on Hannity to do damage control?
Have you not read or heard the numerous times he admitted he made a
mistake. Do you think Ted is lying about making a mistake?
Because he’s a coward. You should not apologize for going on a family trip. People want to make hay out of nothing.
This is called “flooding.”
This is nothing but a MSM hit because Ted called out the cheating. If Anyone on our side gives them the slightest opening MSM calls an air strike.
