Very good! That’s some progress. Accounting will have a surprise when they see their box full. LOL!
How is the weather for son and grand kiddies?
She is a sweet girl. I haven’t seen Coal in about 3 days. I hope this isn’t a repeat of Sugar’s disappearance. Coal has disappeared before, and then waltzed back in like she’d never been away. I do worry that she has a warm place somewhere.
Man...I hope it doesn’t slow down again. Enough is enough! Here’s hoping you get those 40s next weekend. It’ll be a welcome change!
Oh MAN!! Not a good time for Coal to wander off. She needs to be snuggled up with the others to stay warm. I hope she shows up soon.
This system has already been a major slug. It was supposed to be here over a week ago. Now that it’s here, it doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to get out. I know we’re all past ready for it to be gone!
How's everyone doing this morning?
No, it isn’t a good time. There is no time for one of the babies to go missing. I keep calling her name. Like I did Sugar’s for about 2 weeks.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
How much snow did you wind up with? I guess a trip to the lake and KFC wasn’t on yesterday’s agenda.
Evening, Kathy! Hope you’re staying warm!
Ice & I don’t get along. I slipped & fractured my arm.
It’s never a good time for our babies to disappear. been through it too many times and understand the torment. I hope Coal shows up and sure do wish Sugar would.
I just stepped outside to check things out and there’s a large pack of coyotes in the woods behind the house - - very close by. There was a lot of howling and since a train wasn’t going by (they hate the train horns), I assume they got something. I heard a goose right before the howling started so that might be what they got.
The sound of coyotes on a cold night is as chilling as the temperature. I hope it was just a goose they got.
I hope they both return, but Sugar has been gone for a month now. :( She disappeared...I believe...the day we had to go to the ER, which was Jan. 13th. I remember scritching her little head that morning or the one before. Those blue eyes looking up at me. *sigh*
And this is Gizmo cuddling up beside the window:
,
It looks like we will be taking a break for a few days from the lake. :-)
It’s a really eerie sound when they’re real close like they were tonight. A couple of them sounded strange and I reckon they’re coydogs. Deeper voices.
Probably not much chance of seeing Sugar again after so long. That hurts. I hope Coal doesn’t turn out to be a repeat story.
Poor Gizmo. He doesn’t look very happy about the situation.
Can’t go out for a romp at the lake but HAS to go out to take care of “business”. It’s awfully cold!
Well....now we’ve been given notice throughout Texas to expect rolling power outages. sigh.
Steve is doing a stream on it now. Guess I might need more blankets. They’re supposed to be 15-45minute outages.
How fun. NOT
I read about the rolling blackouts here at FR this afternoon. Not fun at all when that happens. I hope they don’t roll to your area. Way too cold for that!
We’re getting lucky again tonight - - so far. The temp stopped dropping at 30, though it didn’t get warmer than 32 this afternoon. We had a mix of snow and sleet when I was outside a little earlier but it was light. It’s stopped now. The cars have a coating of ice on them but there was just a hint of ice glaze on tree branches. If we can get through tomorrow this easy when the next round comes through, we’ll be in good shape.
What’s really nice is the wind has stopped blowing and the house has warmed up. It was kinda cool in here all day.
Dang, I can’t believe how cold it is down there! 9 degrees in Dallas? BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
it’s 4 degrees here right now. The outages are in our area, but we haven’t had our turn yet. I need to get my flashlight at hand.
The fun never stops. LOL!
YIKES!!! You’re colder than Anchorage!
Yep, keep a flashlight on hand, blankets close by, and hope the blackout doesn’t last long when your turn comes.
We’re hoping. Got both and ready to change iPads if the wifi goes off. My small one has cellular service and I can only hope that will stay up. Oh, great...now people are getting multiple blackouts.
I’ll probably head out to sleep soon. Maybe it’ll come when I’m sleeping and I’ll miss it. My quilt plus the plush throw I’ll also use keep me pretty warm.
Aaaaaaah, the wind turbines are frozen and that’s a lot of the reason their power reserves are down. Not good because like Steve just said, this could go on for more than a day.
I wish y’all luck - - LOTS of it. It’s really a mess over there. :-(
Good morning, Canteen.
Good morning to our
Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Ma for preparing
the Canteen for today's activities.
Popping in to see who everyone has fared over the weekend?
I know it's been brutely cold and icy across much of the country.
Heard from a granddaughter studying in MN, so I know how it is.
So many terrible accidents on the roads.
Gonna run, please stay right where you are.
Chat up the military or a family member.
No need to fret...you know I'll be back!
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS
