Full investigation into Jan. 6 Capitol attack needed: GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy
ABC News / Disney ^ | February 13, 2021 | By Meg Cunningham

Former President Donald Trump's actions fit the definition of insurrection, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R- La., who crossed party lines by voting to convict Trump, told ABC News Chief George Stephanopoulos Sunday."

"I listened very carefully to all the arguments. But if you describe insurrection as I did, as an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, we can see the president for two months after the election, promoting that the election was stolen," Cassidy said.

"It was clear that he wished that lawmakers be intimidated. And even after he knew there was violence taking place, he continued to basically sanction the mob being there, and not until later that he actually asked him to leave all of that points to a motive, and a method. And that is wrong, he should be held accountable," he added.

"I had the privilege of having the facts before me, and being able to spend several days, deeply going into those facts as these facts become more and more out there, if you will, and folks have a chance to look for themselves, more folks will move to where I was," Cassidy said.

"People want to trust. They want to trust their leaders, they want people to be held accountable. Now, we are holding -- I'm attempting to hold President Trump accountable -- and that is the trust I have from the people that elected me, and I am very confident that as time passes, people will move to that position."

"I think there should be a complete investigation about what happened on Jan. 6. Why was there not more law enforcement, National Guard already mobilized, what was known who knew it, when they do it all that, because that builds the basis so this never happens again in the future," Cassidy said.

His vote against acquittal said, "Long live the (Commie) revolución!"

His call for a "Full Investigation" is his announcement that he is "willing to serve in a leadership capacity in said revolución."

This because a number of factors frowned on by international observers that open it up to electoral fraud. These include: no voter ID, mail-in ballots, duplicate registration, election observers being prevented from observing, unreliable voting machines, the media calling results while some areas are still voting and so literally influencing the election, and voter fraud not being prosecuted often enough.

The 2020 election was certainly full of "irregularities." How about a tech billionaire contributing $300,000,000 to a "non-profit" which helped perpetrate the very undemocratic actions in the big cities?

The "non-profit" concept as well as "charitable and family foundations" are ways that electied officials maintain their power.

"Full investigation into Jan. 6 Capitol attack needed: GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy"

The Democrats and Chyna Mitch will cut Cassidy off at the knees in his attempt to find out what exactly happened on Jan 06.

He's too dumb to realize it.

He deserved his censure by the Louisianna GOP just for being a dumba$$.

I’ll take the box of rocks. Those backstabbing whining traitors in washington are useless for America but certainly they sure look good to themselves don’t they.

Talk, talk, talk and NO ACTION for the country.

Bloviating jackasses all. With few exceptions.

But if you describe insurrection as I did, as an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, we can see the president for two months after the election, promoting that the election was stolen,”...

In other words if you think an election was stolen, you’re not to allowed to voice an opinion it was stolen because that opinion constitutes insurrection. By that definition, no one can challenge the legality of an election process without committing a crime.

POS. He is one of the reasons the GOP needs to end. I have been waiting since I started voting for Republicans to do the right thing. They never do because they are made up of a bunch of two faced, back stabbing cowards just like this guy.

I am so sorry I voted for that loser, but he was going to win anyway, because he really started to show his colors after the election. I knew he was lukewarm to President Trump but I didn’t realize he would stoop to this level of TDS.

He knows he has ripped his drawers with the Republicans in his home state. His call for a full investigation is a CYA move on his part. He is hopeful that a “full investigation” (RUN BY AND FOR THE DEMOCRATS0 will authenticate his stupid votes cast in the impeachment. But he is calling for an investigation after the trial has been held. He got the cart before the horse. Will Rogers said, “Some men learn by reading, other men learn by observation, and some men have to pee on the electric fence.”Hopalong” (from Democrat to Republican to Democrat) Cassidy has peed on the electric fence.

I’ll take an investigation that doesn’t include any of the 17 IC agencies, Congress or the Supreme Court leading it. The Populist team will be Tom Fitton, James O’Keefe and Andy Ngo, coordinated by Ken Paxton. I don’t know who would be on the CCP team because I try not to think about any traitors.
