I always thought the purpose of protesting is for the grass roots to apply pressure against the gov’t. He’s saying that’s insurrection now? Or is it just when republicans do it? Really, I believe that’s how the communist Chinese think.

But he was ok convicting Trump without the thorough investigation. Somehow that’s better.

Cassidy should step down immediately as Senator because he doesn’t even have a minimum knowledge of the law, let alone the Constitution. This was a trial. The Democrats had a chance to present evidence. The evidence they presented was doctored. They lost. Is Cassidy now saying that Trump should be tried twice for the same crime?

In the history of the Republic, only during the Civil War did the nation see the destruction of private property on the scale that happened last summer. Not even 9/11 destroyed more property - in terms of dollars - as Black Lives Matter did.

Insurance costs for George Floyd riots to be most expensive in history This is just the cost to insurers. It doesn't even begin to account for the damage to government-owned buildings nor the costs of the resources to defend and cleanup the damaged infrastructure. There BLOCKS of Minneapolis that were completely destroyed, burned entirely to the ground.

It's worth noting that these Swamp Critters are only moved to action when their own place of business is briefly interrupted with a throng of protestors.

Sounds to me like Cassidy is ready to switch back to the other side of the aisle like the Democrat he once was along with Murkowski

"I listened very carefully to all the arguments. But if you describe insurrection as I did, as an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, we can see the president for two months after the election, promoting that the election was stolen," Cassidy said.

Apparently Cassidy only listened to the narrative presented by the Democrats, and does not have the discernment to realize how false and one-sided the "arguments" were.

Bill Cassidy is not fit to serve because he lacks judgment, discernment, and common sense, especially because he believed the narrative fed to him by the Democrats and the media. I would NOT want someone that weak in such an important decision making position, would you?

Maybe Bill feels comfortable because 50 mindless Democrats voted along with him.

None of these misfits carried out their pledge to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Ok. So. They didn’t do a full investigation before or even during an impeachment attempt?

And this guy is announcing it?

These guys are looking worse by the day.

Just wow.

Their minions, their PR experts are not advising them? It looks like people are bailing like rats.

In that interview, Bill Cassidy said that he was a gastroenterologist, not a lawyer. That’s true but he needs to read the impeachment charge more carefully. Trump is accused of inciting an insurrection. There were pipe bombs planted on January 5, 2021, the night before Trump spoke on January 6. There are news reports that the New York police department gave information to the FBI before January 6 that there would be riots on January 6. So the riots were planned before Trump gave that speech. Trump isn’t guilty of “inciting” an insurrection.
