Does the national mask mandate make you feel safe?
Candidate Joe Biden's promised plan to control the COVID-19 pandemic featured everybody wearing a mask for 100 days. Former CDC Director Robert Redfield said it might take only four, six or eight weeks (up to 56 days), and later up to 12 weeks (84 days). Now we not only have an Executive Order for mask wearing on federal property and for federal employees and contractors, but the CDC has declared it a federal crime not to wear a mask on public transport or in transportation hubs.
There was no constitutional amendment or law passed by Congress to create this new crime.
Past mask mandates have not stopped the pandemic (see graphic). A CDC study of mask mandates in 10 states claimed that mandates might help, citing a 5.5% decline in the growth rate of hospitalizations. However, they stopped the study in October, just before a huge increase in cases began in those states.

I didn’t know the President had such authority.
After all, isn't he the world's top infectious disease expert? How did he become so knowledgeable?
I’m not going to comply. Eat it you communist pigs!
Three of my buds got the covid. All are male in their seventies. One with serious medical problems. None were hospitalized or even put on meds. They did monitor themselves and had to call in every day. They all had different symptoms. The one common symptom was loss of smell/taste.

Without technical specifications and fit instructions, the term is meaningless and no "scientific" conclusions can be measured or asserted.
Which mask mandate?
The cloth-covering, one-mask, two-mask, mask-with-pantyhose, no-mask after vaccination, or wear-a-mask after vaccination option?
Whatever happened to “Wash yer hands!”?
It’s what ever China joe biden says it is and the sheeple will be following right along. Because “they” are good people, right.
In addition, surgeons are...well...professionals. They also scrub their hands thoroughly and so on. Their prepping routine is way beyond that which we all do when, say, going to the store. Does anyone seriously want to compare the wash basin activities of a surgeon to wiping down a shopping cart for 12 seconds (after it's been spritzed by a store employee and wiped with wood pulp-grade paper towels) and using hand sanitizer from a community dispenser?
Indeed, in this study on "Nonpharmaceutical Measures for Pandemic Influenza in Nonhealthcare Settings—Personal Protective and Environmental Measures," the results were stunning (or "well, duh" depending upon your perspective): there was a statistically insignificant public health benefit from ANY of these measures across these studies:
evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza. We similarly found limited evidence on the effectiveness of improved hygiene and environmental cleaning.
The ONLY study where a strong, statistically significant benefit was found involved a program in Cairo covering school children, that resulted in a significantly lower incidence influenza-like illness (ILI), diarrhea, conjunctivitis, and laboratory-confirmed influenza, vs a control group of kiddies. But look what it took to get them there:
At each intervention school, a hand hygiene team composed of 3 teachers (social studies, arts, sports) and the school nurse was established. The hand hygiene team ensured that all predesigned activities for the hand hygiene campaign were implemented on a weekly basis...The school nurses and teachers were trained to interview students, collect absenteeism data, interview parents, and complete data collection forms, and the nurses were trained to collect and process nasal swabs to test for influenza....Six independent social workers visited the schools weekly; each visited 10 schools per week (5 intervention and 5 control schools). During each visit, they observed hand hygiene activities, soap and drying material availability, and the process of students washing their hands during the school day; they also verified the accuracy of the illness data collected by teachers.
This is a statist's wet dream: almost complete dominion and control over the citizenry's activities, with the added tingle of it being children who are being basically frightened into submission. Can you see the delight on the faces of the CDC at the prospect of THIS overbearing program being signed into law by Bidet*?
So yea...masks work...if we are in surgery, or under a house arrest-like dystopia. But at the Piggly Wiggly in a free society, not so much.
Why don’t they just ask for a young virgin from each family to be thrown in to the volcano?
It has nothing to do with saving us from COVID. It’s so uncle joe can take credit when the numbers go down beginning in May, as they did last year.
Why don’t they just ask for a young virgin from each family to be thrown in to the volcano?
How did you guess? That’s next!
Will Joe’s national mask mandate save us from COVID? Jane M. Orient, M.D., advocates ‘natural immunity, sensible precautions and early treatment’
With the prognosis for constant mask wearing showing bad news I am wondering when the mandate will only apply to Conservatives.
Doctors Warn: Potential Long Term Side Effects of Mask Wearing Include Shortness of Breath, a Weakened Immune System and Chronic Respiratory Conditions
Won’t save us, it will always be something else. Anything to control us. I’ve had the virus and was quarantined, for two weeks. I know what I have to do to keep myself healthy. Don’t need gov’t to tell me what to do.
Well, in most of NV the “signs” read “Mask or Face Covering required.....” So, Mrs rktman and I ordered some plastic shields last spring that attach to our glasses. Only a couple places have objected since they wish to follow their own rules. For the most part they work fine for us. Pack of 12 cost us $60.00 and I’m still using the first one I took out of the package. Of course the current admin may very well be readying parameters for masks allowable for public transit. Which I don’t plan on using anyway. And, staring Monday, our ever thoughtful gov has loosened up the “mandates/edicts” for NV. Now restaurants can go to 35% capacity, a hundred people may gather(?) and tables may now seat 6 instead of 4. Masks/face coverings still required. Welome to Farcellvania.

“... wear the same mask repeatedly or crumple it up in their pocket then reuse it or hang it from their rear-view mirror...” Or fail to properly dispose of it in one of the many red HAZWASTE bins set up everywhere. Oh, they’re not set up everywhere?
And yet here we are asking the question, will a mandatory national mask mandate save us from covid?
Do we have a bunch of morons running this sh*t show? Whoever they are, the lying CDC, the make-it-up-as-you-go Dr. Falsey or the clueless, I'll-believe-anything Dementia Joe, they all seem to come to the same conclusion. If it hasn't worked for the last year, let's double down on mask wearing and see if it works now.
Remember the old saying, liberals keeping doing the the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome.
Ask any intelligent person out in the country, away from these rocket scientists in DC, and they will tell you masks aren't working, so why do our so-called leaders keep insisting on doing the same thing over and over again, thinking they'll hit pay dirt some how?
The solution is to take off the masks, stop the lockdowns, open all small businesses back up, get kids and teachers back to school, let churches, sporting events, cruises, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. all open back up and get back to living our lives.
Our "leaders" have messed things up enough already. They had their chance(s). They need to stop their meddling and let the public take the risks they deem acceptable.
