I think it’s about the report that McCarthy called Trump and asked him to “call off” his supporters, who according to McCarthy were breaking into his offices. Exactly how Trump was supposed to do this isn’t clear, but apparently he gave an angry answer to McCarthy. There is a witness, at least by hearsay, a Dem whom McCarthy supposedly told about this. So that’s no doubt what is behind this.

Although he is not my Senator, I am from Middle Tennessee, but I always liked him. I am disappointed in him that he agreed to be a witness for the rats. The other four were to be expected to be.
There is a single charge of “incitement” against President Trump. How could a private call between McCarthy and Trump on Jan 6th “incite” the crowd already inside the US Capital?

If they get witnesses, we get witnesses. Not seeing the downside of tying up congress for months. The longer this drags out the longer it delays them damaging the country.

Watching a recap of earlier today it becomes evident what the dem plan is. Call those that were arrested for entering the Capitol that they probably blackmailed into giving statements that Trump incited their actions.

Considering that Trump is not president at this point, I’m not going to get worried about this morning’s events. The way I see it, if the Republicans vote to convict, nothing in DC changes, other than Trump PUTS A FORK into the Republican Party, and it finished for good. If Trump is acquitted and the Republicans are real nice to Trump, he may let them exist a bit longer as the opposition party to the Democrats.
Trump is that powerful.

Where did you get the idea that the rule of law would be used in a political trial? I predict that they will call it "fair" because they will vote on the admissability of each witness and Trump's defense will lose each vote.
