The Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish censured Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) on Tuesday for voting to continue the U.S. Senate’s second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
“The Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish hereby censures Senator Bill Cassidy and holds him out as an object of shame,” the censure resolution reads.
“We condemn Senator Cassidy’s actions in the strongest manner. He does not represent the people of this state or the Republican Party. He represents himself and has joined with some of the most dishonest and disreputable forces in our country to be part of this despicable sham.”

Cassidy’s bank accounts need to be checked. I can’t believe he did this.
They need to amend their censure. Add that he is considered Persona Non Grata in that Parrish and it is their hope that he resigns and moves out of the state forever.
And it would wonderful if other Parrish GOPs signed onto this.
I used to think the whole Louisiana practice of dueling for honor was petty and stupid. But in a previous era, Sen. Cassidy would be on the field at dawn facing a true conservative with pistols, and may God forgive me, I wish it could be so, duplicated a few thousand times across our land.
When the check arrives, it’s usually into the bribery recipient’s family bank accounts.

This is the way we begin to win.

We have infrastructure — but we don’t have honest nor competent leadership within the chain of command. And that’s not to say we don’t have awesome people on the ground.
The GA runoffs gave the perfect example of the corrupt/corroded GOP machinery. No way in Hell should the #steal have been repeated 3 months after the General.
Should the momentum steer towards a new party, I’m game. But otherwise, it’s time we stop relying on the opportunists within the GOP machinery. We need to get involved... unfortunately.
BTW, I was involved decades ago. I got turned off by the property builders that were exploiting the trust of the members.
To amend that dueling info, remember, this was French territory. That meant Napoleonic laws, which were infused into state laws. Duels, were still conducted in Central Park in New Orleans, with one Southern Oak tree being the nexus. ‘Pistols’ not so much, mostly rapiers or epees.
Follow the money. The voters of East Baton Rouge district will do the world a great favor by getting rid of this clown.
Amen!!!
Censure...HA!
The threat of Censure used to be a real concern for politicians...
Back in the day, people used to experience something called SHAME...
It was once a real emotion...not so in this digital world...
If you got caught naked with a prostitute in a DC hotel, you might get censured and resign your office...
Now you get caught, write a book, and get your picture on Instagram as a cultural hero...
There is NO SHAME remaining in our society...who cares...?
Maybe, we should start caring again and corrupt/immoral politicians suffer real consequences for their actions...?
Just a thought...
People are stepping up and there’s the upside to the disgraceful actions by these awful pols.
Either tap him on the shoulder and tell him to resign or it’s just Kabuki Theater.
Shameful. I won’t forget about Cassidy’s vote.
Unfortunately, he represents the whole state. EBR is just the parish where the state capitol is located. Hopefully, other parishes will follow suit, and memories are long enough to last until he comes up for re-election in six years.
Pelican State ping
Cassidy censured by state GOP..
Good first step I’d love to see the people of Louisiana declare him Persona Non Grata and demand his resignation. But like the rest he’s s after than everyone d else and is too arrogant.
As someone else stated he just got sent back so a few more years with him unfortunately for the folks of Louisiana. Him and Edward’s are probably laughing their asses off over some mint julios.
He’ll probably switch back to the Dems and really stick it the people.
