The Senators swore an oath to “do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws,” not to trade a conviction for a budget appropriation.

But I think Coulter knows that and isn’t being serious. After all, what’s in this deal for the Democrats? They don’t want a conviction. They want the Republicans to vote to acquit so they can smear the Republicans as terrorist-sympathizers, and maybe for the trial to get so nasty that Romney or someone decides to switch parties and solidify their majority. The last thing they want is to prevent Trump from running in 2024.

While Trump shouldn’t be the sacrificial lamb, even if the Democrats “agreed” - they also agreed to build the wall in order to get Reagan to offer amnesty to the illegals in the ‘80’s. Build the wall first before they get anything in return, they simply lie.
