New York state will allow large stadiums and arenas, such as Citi Field and Madison Square Garden, to reopen for sports and concerts later this month with assigned seating, sharply limited capacity and other measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Any stadium or arena that can fit more than 10,000 people can stage events beginning on February 23 at 10 percent capacity so long as the state's Department of Health signs off on its safety plans, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday.
The venues must enforce all COVID-19 prevention measures, such as the mandatory wearing of face masks, social distancing and a strict 10 percent capacity.

That’s a fine how-do-you-do. The citizens are taxed to pay for a multi-billionaire;s oversized rec room and then they don’t even get to go inside it.
What concession would open up at a 40k seat stadium, if you can only have 4k seats filled? There’s no profit to be made. I doubt if that would even cover security and utilities. Just digging them deeper into debt.
Those stadiums can stay empty for all I care. I don’t have to advise anyone about the state of my healthcare.The only one who needs that info is my healthcare provider.

Cuomo is the benevolent dictator today. 10% capacity is untenable. We purchased tickets to 10 Spring Training games in March. By Cuomo’s edict, we would need to be COVID tested ten times to cover 30 days in March. Nonsense. Thank goodness we live in Florida.
The sad part is that there will be people who do it. Are their lives really that devoid of any meaning that they would subject themselves to that in order to watch grown multi-millionaire men play kids’ games or 3 hours? Get a life, people.
