and Dorsey endorses Signal. Why do that? HK rpotestors are mostly on Telegram.
> That you for confirming my suspicion that this is deep state information.
Compile and. build a client and then run it an isolated virtual machine. Then it’ pretty straightforward to see what is coming in and out of the application. It isn’t magic, machines are deterministic.
I am mostly using GAB, too. Got off of Telegram as I do not trust it. Just intuition or gut, I guess.
I don’t know whether it’s real. I don’t know if it’s not real. But it’s about time that people started asking the type of question you just asked - is what I am reading real or fake news!
This is an article claiming ‘recent court documents’ showed that the FBI can read Signal messages. That could (1) be true; (2) be a mistaken interpretation of ‘recent court documents’; (3) be false information being peddled by the Deep State to make people not use Signal; (4) be false information being peddled by Telegram/WhatsApp/competition to stop people from moving to Signal; (5) be Dallas information that some random individual decided to put together one boring afternoon; or (6) a combination/permutation of the above!
However - we don’t know that, so reading the article should ONLY serve as a signal (haha) for the reader to do their OWN research to see if it is true or not.
In the modern world anyone can post anything and make it seem real.
For example - I read the other day on DataNet.com, which keeps tabs of data integrity and net security, that Telegram has a root-key issue in Android devices that enables messages with attached media (eg videos and pictures) to be gleaned as it passes through any public root-key server that has some sort of io/op data-picket with a fritter lag. Which means that any Federal Agency can similarly get data access if you attach any picture or video - and people tend to do that all the time!
Shocking, isn’t it? Well, it should not be - I just made up 100% of everything underlined above. There’s no DataNet.com, Telegram is very safe, and the whole root-key, io/op data picket, and fritter lag is just mumbo jumbo. I was only showing how ANYONE can come up with something in 20 seconds or less - which means that a) the Deep State or b) corporate competition can do MUCH more.
Bottom-line: Conservatives need to test everything they read or hear. Just because some talking head says it (eg there was a shootout between the CIA and Delta Force over servers in Frankfurt) or someone writes it (Signal can be intercepted when the Moon is in Jupiter Ascending and the wolfsbane blooms at night) does NOT mean it is necessarily true. Anyone can write anything for their own purposes.
I downloaded Signal two weeks ago. I have had Telegram for over two years. I like them both (and primarily use Telegram - it works great and anyways there are not enough people on Signal unfortunately). So, I am actually more pro-Telegram than Signal for the simple matter that there are more people on Telegram than Signal.
But recent stories of Krakens and the ‘fake death of Ashli Babbitt’ (that one annoyed me - people reading some article saying she was an ‘actor’ and deciding that’s true and spreading fake news) have made me be very critical of news stories purporting one thing or another.
As Pharoah Ramses said just before he crossed the Rubicon in 49 AD to attack Pearl Harbor, the capital city of the Apache Nation which was the key ally of Ramses’ main enemy, the Croatian land defense force and their leader General Sitting Bull Jackson....’trust but verify.’
Telegram is quite trustworthy but GAB is American through and through, and I hope they stay that way. So if we have disembarked from world globalism, GAB is a good American ride to hop on.
The problem with GAB is technical. They are not always able to handle the new migration away from Twitter. But they are getting there. Telegram has no technical problems, they are shaken out.
“Then I read about Telegram and how it is also open source and distinguished itself as *true* end-to-end encrypted as opposed to Signal which was only *partially* encrypted in transmission between sender and receiver. Partially encrypted, what does that mean?
On my smartphone Telegram app, when I am talking, texting or sending files with another Telegram user, I can view a square QR Code also written in digits that can be compared with that of the other user I’m communicating with and if the codes match, that means we are totally secure. These codes change with each new communication.
If I am using Signal the encryption is from client-server to server-client. It is possible for an entity to listen in between a smartphone and the client entity. It’s not true end-to-end encryption, almost but not quite.”
Signal absolutely, 100%, is end to end encrypted. And it has the QR code verification feature as well. Jack and Elon both endorsed it for privacy, along with a zillion others. Telegram is great, too, and I have it also. But signal is considered to be THE most secure, above Telegram. Telegram is not E2E encrypted by default, and there are no published audits on their code!!! So yes, it could have secret backdoors, and is owned by two flaky Russian brothers (!).
Cons for Telgram:
Cons
E2E encryption only for Secret Chats
No third party audits
Servers are not open source
Logs IP Address and other user data

Signal is less risky, and considered to be better for security by serious security professionals. Do a web search!!!

Outstanding!!! And you had me scratching my head haha.
Start leaking hot stock tips and wait to see who comes knocking ...
Everyone, read these two articles and judge for yourself on Signal and Telegram:

Bingo. Always assume they are honey traps. Always. Like those dopes who used Tor and got caught.
When the NSA looks at a new encryption standard, that is done for two purposes; 1. To safeguard US entities that will use it. 2. To recommend very subtle changes that will give them the edge they need to break it.
Moxie Marlinspike is the Twitter plant. Look it up. He’s the eyes and ears of Dorsey.
Dorsey endorsed Signal to those attending the January 6 rally on the Mall. Look it up.
This business about Dorsey was discussed here on FR and other forums 3 weeks back. Signal’s duplicity is not news. It’s been known for years.
“Signal’s duplicity is not news. It’s been known for years.”
What’s duplicitous about Signal? Or are you making stuff up again, like you did in your previous post #20:
“Then I read about Telegram and how it is also open source and distinguished itself as *true* end-to-end encrypted as opposed to Signal which was only *partially* encrypted in transmission between sender and receiver.”
Lies. As I already posted in #30, it’s the opposite.
“If I am using Signal the encryption is from client-server to server-client. “
Another lie.
“It’s not true end-to-end encryption, almost but not quite.”
Another lie.
Why do you keep telling falsehoods on this thread? Why don’t you list your sources from tech articles, like I did? Telegram is much less safe than Signal. See #30. I could list a dozen more articles saying the same. It’s not in dispute among security professionals.
Here’s another:
https://thebetterparent.com/2021/02/signal-vs-telegram-which-secure-messaging-app-is-better/
“Telegram does offer end-to-end encryption, but it’s optional and not the default setting for chats. Telegram messages get encrypted between you and the Telegram server, which means that technically it’s possible for the company to intercept your messages on its server.
“Signal was built with privacy in mind—and it shows. All the chats on Signal have end-to-end encryption between devices running the app, and the company that owns the application has zero access to your messages.”
Disagree? Post proof, from tech articles that evaluate encrypted messaging apps. You won’t find any because you’re wrong. Here, use this DDG search if you want. I’ve done the work foryou, just click the link:

Sorry to be so harsh, just sick of all the disinformation on FR. It’s an epidemic.
These custom protocols are typically constructed with fatal flaws, like putting titanium bars and alarms on every window and door and then leaving the house key under a plant on the front porch.
p
You failed to address Marlinspike.
If I recall correctly SOS Mike Pompeo was using signal and congress demanded he cough up his PIN number recently ...... ? He told em to eat shit and bark at the moon or something to that effect.
If it was able to be intercepted then they would have done so then IMHO ....... I’ll keep using Signal etc etc for ordering my take-out .
According to presstitutes an polidiots DDG, VPN’s, Signal and other such thangs using AES 256 encryption can be hacked ....... Why are they warning the folks they fear ?
Money loss from data miners ????
"If they found evidence of criminal behavior, wouldn't they just deep six it."
My guess is it would depend on whether the crook was a democrat (commie) or a republican..
Agreed...
