During his confirmation hearing last Wednesday, Michael Regan, Mr. Biden’s nominee to head the EPA, was questioned by Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN), about China’s complete disregard for the goals of green activists on the issue of climate change.
Regan referred to his time at the head of the State of North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality, admitting that while North Carolina is a leader in “solar installation,” most of the parts required for any installation are made in China.
“What we find is most of the parts we want to install come from China,” Regan said during his testimony. “We’re finding that if we don’t capture the market, we’re going to fall behind. I believe that’s the same for solar, as it is for cars.”
Now that Joe Biden is destroying US fossil fuel projects, John Kerry says the unemployed workers "can be the people that go to work to make the solar panels." But solar panel makers will remain in China–because China's mines and factories are cheaply powered by fossil fuels.

Mr. Biden’s climate team has argued that green energy job gains will offset employment losses among fossil fuel workers.
“You look at solar panels, you look at wind turbines, how they’re made. China, we know from everything that they do being state capitalists – they’re going to do things to put their industries at a competitive edge and reap the benefits while they’re polluting the air,” Sen. Braun told reporters. “There’s a lot we need to be careful with.”
Derek Scissors, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, said China controls approximately 60 percent of the solar industry’s supply chain. China is the chief producer at 75 percent of polysilicon, a critical raw material in the manufacturing of solar cells.
“If the administration wants to greatly increase the use of solar, it faces the problem that China spends heavily to dominate world solar production. Either we’d have to rely on Chinese suppliers when ramping up solar or the administration would have to use legal means to secure the supply chain,” Scissors said. “In this sense, solar reflects the larger challenge facing ‘build back better.’ The final stage of production may not be that important.”

In a statement to reporters, an EPA spokesperson said the agency is “committed to delivering on the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to build a clean energy future that creates good-paying jobs for Americans.”

The USA spent decades balancing its trade in oil / energy with the help of oil-industry innovation and fracking
Now we are proposing to go back to the situation of the 1970s - by switching to inefficient “renewables” energy - the source of which we do not control
But as a country, we are in a MUCH worse position to handle such a situation. Our national debt is through the roof, and current account deficit and trade deficits are blowing out also. The dollar, while still the most widely held reserve currency, is engendering a lot more international opposition than it did 45 years ago. Energy has been under-invested recently, and a dominant left will force production cuts.
Biden and the Left is enforcing trends that will lead to a massive inflation and energy crisis in the not-to-distant future.

I can’t say about the solar panels if they attempt to melt them to recapture the silver. The might be able to crush them very finely and leach the silver out with cyanide.

Well if they can’t make solar panels, then let them learn to code.
They can then move to India and get a contract jobs as an H1B worker where they will be first in lime before American workers.
This is long known fact, just hushed up by media.
Practically all the “green” energy sources are made in China. Not because of the cheaper workforce, but mainly because the huge amount of energy needed and the pollution created by making them.
Thanks to the green energy policies in Europe and in USA, the energy is just too expensive. China bankrupted all European green energy producers and most of the US.
Remember - Solar cells and windmills do not really give out too much net energy. They about break even on the energy budget over the lifetime. Often they do not even break even! They are more like batteries that power sources over lifetime.
So somebody somewhere has to burn fossil fuel to make them! China is the only place one can make them cheaply.
We cannot burn coal, but we can export it to China. They can burn it there and make the solar cells we proudly install and feel good about ourselves. Of course the CO2 will get here from China anyway.

Republicans.. Introduce a Bill requiring all solar equipment be Made in America.
Let’s call their bluff.
