An attorney for former President Donald Trump said he won’t bring up claims about election fraud while defending the former president during the upcoming impeachment trial.
“There are plenty of questions about how the election was conducted throughout the country, but that’s for a different forum, and I don’t believe that’s important to litigate in the Senate trial because you don’t need it,” attorney Bruce Castor told KYW Newsradio Philadelphia. “President Trump has plenty to win with what he has.”
Castor also pushed back against reports that Trump parted ways with his initial legal team about whether they would advance his claims about election fraud.
“I don’t know where people got that notion that was some sort of litmus test to get to defend the president, because as you saw from the document I filed, which had to be approved by the president personally, there isn’t anything in there about the election being stolen,” Castor said.
Castor and fellow Trump lawyer David Schoen filed a response to House Democratic impeachment managers on Feb. 2, arguing that the impeachment trial is unconstitutional because Trump doesn’t currently hold office. They also argued that Trump has a First Amendment right to express his views about the accuracy of the election results.
Democrats argued that Trump’s speech wasn’t constitutionally protected and said it incited an insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
“Just because somebody gave a speech and people got excited, it doesn’t mean it’s the speechmaker’s fault—it’s the people who got excited and did what they know is wrong,” Castor said in pushing back against Democrats, referring to Trump’s remarks to a crowd on Jan. 6.

Something really big must have happened behind the scenes. Think about it: no court would allow evidence to be introduced, no court would allow challenges to election laws being altered without involvement of state legislatures, Fox News turned on its viewers in less than 24 hours, entire social media companies were destroyed, attorneys threatened to have their licenses revoked, universities attempting to revoke Trump supporters’ degrees, etc. Does anyone have a reasonable explanation?
Hypothetically, If a suitcase nuke went off in DC, would we even notice? or care?
I’m sure the media would already have its usual list of suspects, or should I say, voter roll of Trump supporters.
After failures on Russian collusion and an impeachment that was a game of lawn darts for most and a farce at best.
COVID has certainly proven to be a bit more than a dirty bomb. The timing of its official arrival ought make one wonder why.
The truth is a lot of supposed intelligent elected and otherwise officials turned their heads every step of the way this election cycle and are now doing everything they can to ignore their own failings at the expense of a nation supposedly based on constitutional principles.
And they would want immunity for their own inactions&incitations by just shrugging and acting like this is normal and they like being on the higher ground, regardless the rest of us are left to slog thru the remnants of a debacle like no other the swamp has seem before.

This is more than a bit like the episode of Star Trek NG, during which Picard was detained by the Cardassians, and psychological torture techniques were used to force him to “admit” that there were 4 lights not 3, or something like that.
The point is, we are supposed to come to accept an absolute falsehood that will basically dominate our remaining lives in a very bad way. The Left/Oligarchs and China will use slander, defamation, falsified documents and video, etc., de platforming, ruining careers, marriages and families, political and personal blackmail, the IRS, every regulatory bureaucracy you may have heard of, and mob threats to you and your family, and your property.

For whatever reason it seems Trump always caves in the end to the Deep State. Firing Mueller, impeachment 1.0, declassification, pardons, impeachment 2.0, etc. It just makes him look weak in the end. I suppose he is without his own party supporting him.

After January 6th when the DemonRat media went all out blaming President Trump, I got into a fight with a friend. He insisted it was President Trump’s fault.
I explained the truth and mentioned what President Trump said to protest peacefully and patriotically.
He denied it. I said it was true. He denied it again. I said, “What, CNN didn’t tell you? Yeah, he said exactly that. Look it up.”
My friend claimed to have read President Trump’s speech. I said “Show me.” He just went into denial.
He hasn’t shown me anything since. Yes, he’s completely brainwashed. Many are.

And since the Constitution does not allow for the impeachment of a president who left office, the very fact that Trump is being impeached is an admission that Trump is still President.
If I were the Presidents lawyers I would be asking the Senate for an order to tell Biden to clear out of the White House....STAT!
And if the Senate issue an guilty resolution , that means that President Trump is indeed President, one who is impeached , and Mile Pence is the President.

And Castor would be gaslighting. The GOP Senate will never convict because that would reveal them a fake party for all time. They’ll never do it because they like to operate in the dark and dupe GOP voters who do not pay attention.
We must remember this is not a trial in a court of law. The senators do not have to listen to anything the Trump team has to say. Especially if they start in with election fraud.
If any testimony about election fraud comes up, the senators will close their hearings and hold their vote.

Wrong - this is terrible advice.
This is the last opportunity for President Trump to have a public platform to make the case on behalf of 75-80 million voters that the election was stolen - and they are advising him to shut up about it!
The ONLY reason that would make sense is if there was a risk that bringing up the fraud would piss off enough Senators that he could be convicted, and be prevented from ever holding public office again.
But we know there is zero risk of that happening for two reasons:
1) it is an ironclad case that that would be unconstitutional, and
2) even if it wasn’t ironclad, the Senate already voted 55 to 45 that it is unconstitutional... they are not going to reverse themselves
So he is not getting convicted of anything - and this “trial” is the last chance to make the case for election fraud.
My guess is that they are saying this to put them off guard, but they will make the case for election fraud once in there. I sure hope so

Yep, go right after it with a Dim House & a Dim Senate & a Dim POTUS & with a bunch of RINOs who don't even want to utter the words "election fraud" not alone admit the 2020 election was stolen, and with all the courts, including the SCOTUS who won't even touch election fraud with a 10-foot pole. Even though nobody is allowed to mention "Dominion" without having their lives ruined, they'll go right after 'em..
Yep, this is the perfect time. We'll just get 'em next election, forget about the last election that was rigged, we'll REALLY get 'em next time.
