RNC chairwoman expresses regret over Giuliani news conference
The Hill ^ | 1 Feb 21 | JOHN BOWDEN

The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), Ronna Romney McDaniel, said in a new interview that she regrets letting former President Trump's lawyers, namely Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, spread unproven claims about the 2020 election from the organization's headquarters.

Speaking with The New York Times, McDaniel indicated she thought it had been a mistake to allow Giuliani and Powell to make the claims about election rigging days after the vote at the RNC's headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“When I saw some of the things Sidney was saying, without proof, I certainly was concerned it was happening in my building,” McDaniel told the newspaper. “There are a whole host of issues we had to deal with — what is the liability of the RNC, if these allegations are made and unfounded?”

During the Nov. 19 press conference at the RNC headquarters, lawyers for the former president including Powell and Giuliani claimed that Democrats had organized around the country to steal hundreds of thousands of votes in key battleground states including Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

McConnell says Taylor Greene's embrace of conspiracy theories a '... Trump's new PAC raised millions as he sought to overturn election... "This was not an individual idea of 10 or 12 Democrat bosses. This was a plan. You would have to be a fool not to realize that," Giuliani said at the news conference, during which dark liquid ran down his face.

McDaniel in the new interview also offered thoughts about the GOP civil war between moderates who wish to break away from the former president and supporters of Trump, who have blamed the GOP at large for failing to remain loyal.

“If you have a family dispute, don’t go on ‘Jerry Springer,’” McDaniel said. “Do it behind closed doors. It’s my role to call them and explain that if we don’t keep our party united and focused on 2022, we will lose. If we are attacking fellow Republicans and cancel culture within our own party, it is not helpful to winning majorities.”

The GOP is beyond repair. I’m convinced many of these RINOS are Democrat plants whose main job was to wreck the party internally. They’ve succeeded. They’re entrenched in the hierarchy of the RNC, and they control the donor class. It won’t be an easy task to dislodge these people and regain control of the party!

This "without proof" mantra is sickening. A case begins, not with "proof" but with suspicion of a crime and then establishing "probable cause" suggesting a likelihood that a crime had been committed. A cop has to first establish probable cause in order to search your vehicle. . .a drug dog registers a response, for instance. That's not "proof" but is probable cause in order to investigate to find conclusive evidence of a crime.

Even for a grand jury, the standard is not "proof beyond a shadow of doubt" but, rather, probable cause. . nor does it have to be a unanimous decision for an indictment. There was probable cause out the wazoo in the key battleground states that suggest the results were fraudulent. But there was no investigation. No one, such as those crooks wheeling in the suitcases of ballots in Atlanta, were ever compelled to testify under oath. That's why that idiot Barr could say that he saw no evidence that could overturn the election. He saw no evidence because there was NO INVESTIGATION that would have provided the proof, beyond a shadow of doubt, that a heinous crime had been committed!

No "proof"? BULLFECES!!

Give them some more carrots out front and the cattle prod from the rear.

A sternly worded letter would probably do the trick.

the GOP has never been on our side and will never be on our side.

She's not the GOP, she's the RNC and a party elitist.

The GOP is what the state platforms say it is....plus its long civil rights history.

Screw the RNC. Send money to the Trump PAC. The RNC contributions go to the very candidates that you would never vote for.

What is wrong with all these idiots who can’t keep their mouths shut? If this was WWII, they’d all be tripping all over themselves to do the Tokyo Rose radio show. At least back then those who gave aid and comfort to the enemy had to face severe consequences, normally up close and personal time with Mr. Rope.

Because besides elected officials there is a whole party bureaucracy consisting of offices and other things to run the GOP as a party.

That’s where much of the fundraising money goes, and many of those people have been running a losing show for decades.

For example the New York GOP party has had the same Party leader for years and hasn’t won Since Pataki.

But they’re all friends with everybody and all the office buildings and they all get together and do party stuff, Like it’s a social club.

None of those people are gonna get fired. Or stop being friends with the same people that have been pulling the strings for 30 or 40 years.

We need to form a whole new party. If all 70 million trump voters joined, the GOP would only have 10 million members.

If only half joined the GOP would be sh*tting bricks because they would be a third-party.

The old “split the vote and hand it to the democrats” argument no longer works in the age of Trump

None of those people are going to win either.

It doesn't matter, combat their funding efforts, let the RINOs fund their own social club. NY will be RAT forever no matter what.

We need to form a whole new party.

Why do you feel the need to reinvent the wheel? Some kind of personal vendetta, Don't like the brand name? Still fighting the Civil war?

You already have a ready-made voting bloc, lifelong Republicans having the same value set as Trump, who has walked the talk, out-republicaning the elected GOPe phonies.

If all 70 million trump voters joined

They won't, they already willingly voted Republican, or are Republicans.

the GOP would only have 10 million members

And the resultant House and Senate seats that go with that.

If only half joined the GOP would be sh*tting bricks because they would be a third-party.

And so would be "The Trump party"....handing control of the House and Senate and all the Committees to the RATs....forever.

The old “split the vote and hand it to the democrats” argument no longer works in the age of Trump

Of course it does. Math doesn't change, and neither does human nature.

Seriously did you try to comprehend my post?

I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel, I’m saying the old wheel is broken beyond repair.

We will never cleanse the GOP of all these People who have been running it for years.

Yes, it's crazy talk.

I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel

Yes you are, there is a perfectly good conservative voting bloc and you want to destroy it.

I’m saying the old wheel is broken beyond repair.

No it isn't. It's just been co-opted by RATs and RINOs.

We will never cleanse the GOP of all these People who have been running it for years.

Why not? If you aren't up to the task of routing out the GOPEs, you sure as hell wouldn't be able to start a successful "third party" in short order.

I believe there's already something like 50 "third parties".
