Why Republicans Need to Denounce Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: She Needs to Disavow QAnon, anti-Semitism, and her Facebook support for political violence
PJ Media ^ | 02/01/2021 | Tyler O' Neill

Posted on 02/01/2021 7:19:37 AM PST by SeekAndFind

In recent days, Democrats have launched a full-court press against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), the Republican who filed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden on his second day in office. At least 50 House Democrats have called for Greene’s expulsion from Congress. As legacy media outlets highlight Greene’s previous statements on social media, Republicans have hesitated to condemn her, even as some conservative groups have broken their silence.

Conservatives and Republicans need to condemn Greene’s previous statements on social media and demand an explanation for them. Until Greene unequivocally rejects the insane and dangerous things she has written and promoted on Facebook, she will give conservatives and Republicans a bad name.

While “canceling” people for old social media posts is distasteful, it seems Greene consciously built a following of crazies and worse in order to further her political career. As legacy media outlets have noted, she supported the QAnon conspiracy theory, but she went further than that, as well.

In 2018, Greene crafted a conspiracy theory about Jewish space lasers. As PJ Media’s Stephen Green noted on Friday, she never actually wrote the phrase “Jewish space lasers,” but what she did write was “so paranoid and convoluted that ‘Jewish space lasers’ actually sounds slightly less crazy.”

Hold on to your hats — your tinfoil hats, that is. Greene claimed that Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), working with the Rothschilds, used a space laser to clear room for a high-speed rail project, and that that space laser caused the 2018 Camp Fire, which burned more than 150,000 fires and killed 85 people. Over in reality, the fire actually traced back to electrical wiring belonging to PG&E.

Yes, she spread that conspiracy theory.

What’s the problem here?

First amendment means you can “speculate”, which is exactly what she said she was doing.

Is the problem people’s attempt to shine a light in dark places and ask questions.

I never got into qanon, for various reasons, but mostly because the things I was exposed to seemed far too cryptic and vague and deliberately ‘mysterious’.

But I always used to find reading up on conspiracy theories entertaining, just like creepy pasta or whodunits are entertaining. If you accept them as fictitious first, then you can assess them and appreciate them for how well formed and presented they are, if they are, which on the internet, is not often.

It is my experience that the varied concepts of a ruling elite in varied forms from the illuminati to bankers cabals all the way to the anunaki goes back to the 1990s on the internet, and much longer in books and print, including secret societies and hidden religious sects.

This facebook post in particular, and the reaction to it, only just seems to me to support the concept of the conspiracy, when all you are asking about are the coincidences (or not) of powerful people and how they appear to benefit from their connections. Going off on the space lasers definitely reads as pretty whack stuff, but questioning the who’s and how’s should not be a crime!

Did Sheila Jackson Lee ever get to see the flag our astronauts planted on Mars?
Did Guam ever flip over?

Selective outrage at it’s “best”

You can tell who they fear the most. Who cares if she wrote something odd, those fires were filled with gummit negligence and cover-up. Maybe they should go check what the real cause was like arson and mismanagement of the forests.

I’m sick of people supposedly on “our side” insisting that this one or that one be denounced because the Media-Dem Party demands that we play by rules set for us by themselves.

I’d like the author to point out a single time when the Media-Dem Party denounced ANY of the legions of crazies that populate their party and spout their total nonsense on CNN, MSNBC, etc., etc.

I’ve read what Greene wrote and don’t find it particular odd, certainly no odder than “white supremicists” and “white guilt” and “white privilege”.

Instead of attacking those on our side, we should concentrate on attacking the real enemy, the Media-Dem Party.

Thanks so much for the screenshot of the actual facebook post.

It is stupid. The lack of technological knowledge is great.

But it is not enough to expell someone from Congress.

If that is the standard, expell about 1/3 of Democrats for their equally stupid ideas of the CIA funding crack cocaine as a way to keep black people down.

Let the voters decide.

Every few days, Nancy Pelosi says something that may inspire disrespect, unfair treatment or violence toward conservatives. Nobody in her party ever publicly calls her out, unless they think she didn’t go far enough in her partisan rhetoric.

Why Republicans Need to Denounce Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Republicans "need" to denounce other Republicans right after the Democrats get finished denouncing THEIR violent and hateful people. That is going to take quite a while.

Republicans need to denounce Mao and the little Red Book he rode in on, Stalin, Nazi Pelosi, and McConnell and then impeach Carter and FDR.

I’d much rather “denounse” a Republican branch of the Uniparty that could not even stand up for a President who had done more to advance conservative ideas in four years than any predecessor including Reagan, and who had 90%+ approval of the party.

Yet the pissed it all away. THOSE are the real “kooks”. And if anyone needs to go, it’s them. Turd Cruz included!

If the Republican Party got rid of everyone they thought was a kook, they’d cancel everyone on this forum.

This “Cancel Greene” movement is just as bad as the Cancel Trumpism” movement. If they can cancel her cause she’s weird or kooky, they will cancel you.

This is the kind of thinking that leads to gulags.

So, you’re against cancelling the likes of Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and AOC?

You are going back to her Facebook posts from 2018 long before she was elected to the congress?
Did her Dem opponent not drag all this out and run campaign ads against her based on this nonsenee and Marjorie Green still won?
Have the people not spoken?
Are the Dems now going to impeach Dementia Joe for all the women he raped over the past 40 years too?

But why must conservatives be the ones canceling other conservatives?

We think all of our representatives have to be perfect. While the Left has no problem blindly defending even the biggest fools, as long as they vote correctly.
