The Republican National Committee (RNC) will not back former President Trump if he chooses to run for office again in 2024 and will instead remain neutral, RNC chair Ronna McDaniel indicated in a Wednesday interview with the Associated Press.
“The party has to stay neutral. I’m not telling anybody to run or not to run in 2024,” McDaniel said, walking the fine line as polls continue to indicate that a sizeable portion of the GOP base continues to back and support the former president.
“That’s going to be up to those candidates going forward. What I really do want to see him do, though, is help us win back majorities in 2022,” she told the outlet.
Similarly, other recent surveys show that GOP voters are not done with Trump, even as Republican lawmakers in Washington attempt to return to business as usual following a contentious presidential election. A recent Politico/Morning Consult revealed that 56 percent of Republican voters “believe that Trump should either probably or definitely run for president again in 2024.”
The survey also found that 50 percent of Republican voters say Trump should play a “major role” in the future of the GOP.

Never really worked. People held their noses to vote for Dole, Bushes, and (gulp) Mitt Romney instead of the Dem and the Dems around them if they won. People needed someone to speak FOR THEM, not for fellow insider power brokers.
When Reagan and Trump brought out many millions who never voted all the other years, the lesson did not sink in.

OK, then the GOP won’t miss my vote in the 2022 elections. They won’t back my candidate in 2024 and I won’t vote for their candidates in 2022. And I’m just getting started.
If anyone at the RNC is paying attention, please stop sending me requests for contributions, that ship has already sailed. I won’t ask for a refund of my previous contributions, I sent those in support of Donald Trump, not the GOP or any of it’s two-faced weak sisters.

What in the world is wrong with these people. Do they really think we didn’t notice that they remained “neutral” in the 2020, as well as the stolen election? This person is nuts, “will remain neutral if he would run”, but what she really wants him to do is “help them win back the majority in 2022.”

RNC should allow the primaries to play themselves out without sticking their snout in there. They should butt out and not help RINOs either.
Trump destroyed all the candidates in the 2016 primaries. He will likely do it again if he decides to run again.

If I recall correctly our county GOP decided we needed to change our bylaws so we COULD ENDORSE candidates...
